Such good perspectives of parent/child relationships. Parents, if your kids or adult kids are coming to you with unmet needs...get curious. Put your defenses down. Listen to their experiences from their perspective. They aren't trying to make you feel bad, it is an attempt to get closer to you. Take that opportunity by trying to listen and understand.
