Love and emotional toxicity can look similar at first, but they feel very different over time.

Love is steady and safe. You can be yourself without fear, communicate openly, and work through conflict with respect. It supports your growth and doesn’t require you to shrink.

Emotional toxicity often feels intense but unstable & exhausting. It can involve manipulation, blame, or emotional highs and lows that leave you anxious or confused. Instead of feeling secure, you feel like you’re constantly trying to keep the peace or prove your worth.

Toxicity feels unpredictable and makes you lose yourself.

Literature, music, poetry, visual art, dance, forms of body work & spiritual disciplines & performance art have been contributing to human healing LONG before "psychotherapy" was even a word.
