Meet Receptionist/Switchboard Operator Mary's dog, Rex!

Rex is an adorable, laid-back (and seasoned) Shih Tzu-Chihuahua mix. He enjoys ground turkey and green beans—but no dog food for this guy! Recently, he discovered the joy of riding in the front seat. Rex has been a wonderful addition to Mary's family for the past two years.

Horizon recently hosted an Education Fair, providing our field staff with an opportunity to refresh their skills, gain new knowledge, and connect with colleagues. The event included discussions on best practices and meaningful conversations that fostered collaboration and learning.

We were also proud to partner with the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative - SEW to host a food drive during the event. Thank you to all employees who generously donated!

"I am wondering how much I should say when I accompany my mother to her doctor visits. You see, mom gets around the truth by omission. She never really lies to the doctor; she simply does not answer questions completely so that what she says is just not accurate. I am sitting there in the exam room wanting to answer for her with each and every question asked. I do not think that mom gets the best care possible because she is not forthcoming. No one has the time to pull the truth out of her. What is appropriate for a daughter to say and not say during a medical appointment? Do I just let mom manage her own health care, or do I speak up and clarify mom’s responses?"
