You don’t have to wait until you’re exhausted to take care of yourself. Noticing the signs of burnout early is an act of self-respect. Here are some gentle, realistic ways to respond when burnout shows up:

1. Name it without judgment
Simply acknowledging “I’m burned out” can bring relief. You don’t have to justify it or compare it to anyone else’s experience.

2. Reduce before you add
Instead of asking what else you should do, ask what can be paused, delegated, or softened. Even small reductions matter.

3. Rest that actually restores
Burnout rest isn’t just sleep. It might look like mental breaks, emotional boundaries, quiet time, or doing something that doesn’t demand productivity.

4. Revisit boundaries
Notice where you’re over-giving, over-explaining, or saying yes out of obligation. Burnout often grows where boundaries have been ignored too long.

5. Reconnect with meaning (gently)
You don’t need a big life overhaul. Small moments of meaning—connection, creativity, nature, laughter—can help rebuild energy over time.

6. Get support
Burnout thrives in isolation. Talking with a trusted person or a therapist can help you untangle what’s draining you and what you need next.

7. Remember: recovery is not instant
Burnout heals in layers. Be patient with yourself. Progress may look like fewer bad days before it looks like good ones.

You’re allowed to take care of yourself before you’re completely depleted. That’s not selfish—it’s necessary.

Gentle reminder: your own touch can be incredibly calming.

A hand on your chest, rubbing your arms, a self-hug—these small moments of self-touch can help your nervous system slow down, signal safety, and bring you back into your body. You don’t need permission to comfort yourself. Sometimes the most grounding support is already right there with you.

Holiday traditions can be comforting... or complicated.

There’s something grounding about familiar rituals: the smells, the songs, the moments that make your body exhale and say, I belong here.

And sometimes the traditions you are used to start to feel like something to ENDURE rather than look forward to. If traditions no longer bring you joy it’s okay to change them.

Keep what feels good, release what doesn’t, and create new rituals that bring comfort, meaning, and peace. You’re allowed to build holidays that feel safe, joyful, and truly yours.

✨ Tips to Beat the Winter Blues ✨
Shorter days can mess with your mood, but little shifts help a lot. Get outside for even 10 minutes of daylight. Move your body in ways that feel good. Stay connected—even a quick check-in with a friend counts. Create small pockets of cozy: warm drinks, soft blankets, a good playlist. And most importantly… be gentle with yourself. Winter isn’t a performance; it’s a season. ❄️💛

This time of year we get so overwhelmed.... it is easy to set aside doing things for ourselves when there is so much to do for the holidays: shopping, decorating, cleaning, attending events... it never ends! Here is a reminder for some small acts of wellness you can practice over the next 5 days.

Today’s reminder: your inner voice deserves to be heard. Reflect, reset, and realign with what matters.

Most of the people I work with struggle with being able to rest, relax, and recharge. They have that constant need to feel they are being productive with their time. Though I would argue that one does not need to be productive at all times, an easier mind shift is to realize that allowing yourself to rest IS actually very productive. If you keep pushing forward without rest, you’ll be less efficient, less creative, and make more mistakes. So take some time to just rest and relax. Listen to your body.
