Do You Qualify for Medicare Part D “Extra Help”?

If you think you may qualify for the Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy (LIS), also known as the “Extra Help” program, you can apply directly online at ssa.gov/extrahelp or call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213.

This valuable program helps reduce prescription drug plan costs for qualifying Medicare beneficiaries, including:

✔️ Monthly premiums
✔️ Annual deductibles
✔️ Copayments for medications

For 2026, individuals with income up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Level may qualify. That’s generally:

• $23,475 per year ($1,956/month) for individuals
• $31,725 per year ($2,643/month) for married couples

Resource limits (such as savings and stocks) must typically be under:

• $17,600 for individuals
• $35,130 for married couples

You don’t have to navigate Medicare alone. ❤️

Medicare Supplement Billing Reminder (Plan G – 2026)

If you have a Medicare Supplement Plan G in 2026, your Part B medical deductible is $283.

Here’s how billing works:
✔️ Medicare pays 80% of approved medical costs
✔️ Your Supplement pays the remaining 20%
✔️ You are only responsible for the $283 Part B deductible

If you ever receive a bill from a doctor, specialist, or hospital before meeting your deductible, don’t panic. Ask the provider to resubmit the claim. You should only be paying your Supplement insurance company, not the provider directly.

Once your Part B deductible is met, you should have no additional medical costs for the rest of the year for Medicare-approved services.

📌 Always remember to confirm that your provider accepts Medicare.
