Anyone else doing a handmade holiday season?

I’ve wanted to be more intentional and creative with my Christmas gift giving. This year my goal is to hand craft at least one aspect of each gift. I’m so excited to make each of them, and also to see the reactions of the recipients!

Hey friend! How’s it going?

I’m Mel, and I noticed a few new faces around here. Some of you I’ve reached out to and connected with, but thought I’d share a little bit more about me 😊

🏡 I grew up in MN and just moved into our first home in Spring Lake Park, which is a first tier suburb of Minneapolis.

💕 I am a wife to and we have two beautiful children, Lucy (Lucille) and Cal (Calvin). 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

👩‍🎓I graduated from the U of M twin cities with a bachelors in dental hygiene 🦷, and work 3-4 days a week helping patients gain and maintain healthy smiles (and overall health) 😃

A few fun facts about me:

💗 My favorite color is pink!
‼️ I am one of 13 children (yes biological, no none of us are twins or triplets
🍁 My favorite season is F A L L 😍
🍎I love learning about nutrition and dietetics (so fascinating and so much to learn!)
💪While pregnant with Cal I earned my personal training certificate and hope to do something with that in the next year or so!
🪡Sewing and crafting are creative outlets and super dear hobbies of mine, and I can’t wait to develop my shop!

My family has had a lot going on lately, and I’m able to get back into my crafting as things are settling down. There are so many fun things I want to explore and bring to the table, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

I needed this.. This week I had an experience that left me in tears in the worst way possible.

I was made to feel like my personality was too much and like I didn’t fit in.

Not only did I stand out, but it felt like this group was asking me to change my disposition and personality in order to fit the mold of the group. Whether or not they intended it to hurt, it really stung and I was left sobbing, feeling like I wasn’t enough or I didn’t measure up to their standards.

It hits hard when you’re trying to be true to yourself and it’s not accepted or “enough”.

I have not felt this way in a very long time, and I am grateful to be normally surrounded by people who accept me as I am in all my uniqueness and personality ❤️

This is a reminder to you that you are more than enough just as you are!! Read that again: just as you are ❤️ Your individuality is beautiful, and your personality is not too big or too small. You are wonderfully YOU and that is perfect 🥰🥰
