Ready to level up after Pods 101? Or you missed Pods 101 but are feeling ready to jump into the deep end with us? Or maybe you already know the pods basics but need space for pods practice? If that sounds like you, you should join us for Pods 201: Group Agreements & Pods Practice!

DATE & TIME: Saturday, April 4th 12-1:30 CST

LOCATION: Online, registration required for Zoom link

REGISTER at bit.ly/REP_Pods201 or link in bio!

Pods 201 an interactive online studio dedicated to diving deeper into the skills and practices of pods. Participants will read, discuss and reflect on the complexities of creating and abiding by group agreements. Then, we will provide small and large group discussion prompts where participants are welcome to bring current pod troubles for collective problem-solving.

REP defines a pod as a group of people who have come together to support each other through crisis. The people of a pod can connect based on geography, identity, values, a time-specific need, and/or other factors. Pods have shared agreements for consent, communication, accountability and care. This definition is adapted from Mia Mingus and the Bay Area Transformative Justice Project – check out their work at batjc.org!

Pods 201 is for you if...
• You have found yourself organizing with new people and want to deepen those relationships.
• You want to start having conversations about abolition with the people around you.
• You want to brainstorm, troubleshoot and/or reflect on your experiences in community of the year so far.
• You want to “find your community” but feel like you don’t know where to start.
• You are somebody who can bring different types of people together and want to channel that energy into building strong networks of care.

These times call for practice, deeper listening, and spaces of support. With that awareness, we are excited to announce our Taproot Pod Institute! This is an opportunity to co-learn and practice new skills that can strengthen pod building. We are looking for Black folks who are already striving to establish pods and need support and more information to strengthen their circles of care.

The intention of this collective experience is to support Black individuals that are seeking an intentional pod building within their communities, want to hold a direct role of establishing a pod, and an intentional deepening of their established or soon to be established care groups. At REP we define pods as a group of people who have come together to support through crisis, care, and mutual support with shared, intentional agreements. Our goals as facilitators is to support in skill building around collective care practices, share critical political education, encourage application of strategies to create pods, and provide necessary information and resources on what folks building and leading pods should expect to come up.

Applications are required. You can find the application at bit.ly/Taproot2026 or in the linktree in our bio!

This training will be hosted every Tuesday in April. The application requests you provide the time(s) that work best for you.
-> April 7th
-> April 14th
-> April 21st
> April 28th

Participants will be paid $100/session, for a total of $400. Only ten applicants will be selected. This offering is only for Black folks.

Applications will close on March 23rd!

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you to all the folks that attended the first and second sessions, much gratitude! 💜

Amidst the surge in federal immigration enforcement, our communities are experiencing rapid change. And yet, so many things remain the same. We understand that the fight against state violence and white supremacy has existed for hundreds of years before us, and that the current resistance against ICE in Minneapolis has deep roots in Black, Indigenous, immigrant, and working-class liberation movements.

In this study group, we will move through conversation grounded in abolitionist studies to understand and uplift the layers of truth that are moving around us currently. We will discuss themes such as imperialism, anti-blackness, and criminalization to make sense of how different communities respond to violence. Join us to study, discuss, and consider what more is possible when we are together.

This study group is hosted by REP’s Radical Ecosystem Pods team. We will gather in-person to collectively read and discuss a selected text. Our schedule dates are - Monday, February 23rd; Monday, March 2nd; and Tuesday, March 10th. No pre-reading is required. Snacks and sparkling water will be available free of cost. Sessions will use the following agenda:

1. Open the space at 5 PM

2. Welcome & check-in at 5:30 PM

3. Group read aloud of text

4. Discussion & reflection

5. Closing at 7 PM
