Who wants to move to Australia?!?

Children across Australia will wake up on Wednesday with no access to their social media accounts under a world-first ban designed to shelter those under 16 from addictive algorithms, online predators, and digital bullies.

Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that last a lifetime….

What if we normalized gifting therapy? 💛

Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that say: “I see you, and I care about your wellbeing.”

Lately, I’ve been hearing from more and more people (clients, colleagues, & friends) who are facing incredible uncertainty. They are professionals who’ve suddenly lost their jobs, or federal employees and contractors (including military families) who haven’t received a paycheck due to the government shutdown... it is impacting a lot of people in our orbit whom we care about.

These moments aren’t just “financial stress.” They’re emotional earthquakes.

When your sense of stability like your income, your career, your purpose, etc. is shaken, your nervous system responds as if you’re in danger. Our brain / body doesn't distinguish between a bear chasing you vs. a change in your financial/employment status... it reacts the same. Fight/Flight.

Many may have/feel:
*Difficulty sleeping or focusing
*Irritability or hopelessness
*Shame for “not being productive enough”
*Disconnection from family and friends
*And so many other mind/body reactions to such stressors.

As a licensed psychologist, I want to emphasize this: your reactions are valid; they’re human responses to a loss of control and safety.

A few gentle reminders for anyone reading this...for yourself or someone you love:

*It’s okay to ask for help: professionally or personally.
*Structure your days where you can, as routines anchor the mind.
*Connect with others who understand; isolation deepens distress.
*Don’t measure your worth by your paycheck.

If you’re struggling, please reach out for support (lots of low cost or free options as well - just ask me and I'll give you some to look into.) There's so many ways to find support that works best for you at this time. Talk to a trusted friend, colleague, or mental health professional. You don’t have to navigate this uncertainty alone.

We can’t control the timing of paychecks or policies, but we can choose compassion for ourselves and others.

💚 September is Su***de Prevention & Awareness Month

This is a time to remember those we’ve lost, support those who are struggling, and remind one another that healing is possible.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, hopeless, or unsure where to turn, please know you are not alone. Talking about su***de does not create risk — it opens the door for connection and safety.

👉 If you or someone you love is struggling, you can dial or text 988 (Su***de & Crisis Lifeline) for immediate support.

Let’s break the silence, reduce stigma, and remind each other that reaching out is a brave and powerful step. 💙

Join us on Saturday, Sept 27th from 11-3 at the ROC in St. Louis Park, MN for our annual FREE wellness carnival for kids/families and everyone in our community! www.shoutoutloudmn.com

Since 2023, I've been holding in person summits for the therapists in my collective. 💡 As virtual therapists, so much of our work is done behind a screen. While it’s powerful to reach clients wherever they are, it can also feel isolating at times.

That’s why the Synergy eTherapy Summit means so much. Our first year was in Mpls, second year in Chicago and this year in sunny Florida! 🌴

This isn’t just a conference with CE's, it’s also about coming together face-to-face, sharing energy, stories, and encouragement that you just can’t replicate through a we**am. There’s something special about sitting in a room with colleagues who “get it” and remembering we’re not alone in this work.

In-person connection fuels us. It strengthens our community. And it makes the virtual work we return to even more impactful.

I can’t wait to laugh, learn, and grow alongside so many of my incredible peers.

❓How do you stay connected to your colleagues if you spend most of your day isolated and online?

✨🦌 Last week, I looked out the window of our cabin when we took a mini vacation up north with family and saw a deer quietly moving through the trees. There was something so calm yet powerful about its presence—alert, graceful, and unafraid to step into the open.

It reminded me of what it feels like to start or expand a business. Whether launching your own practice or growing into a group practice, there’s that same mix of vulnerability and strength. Like the deer, we sometimes hesitate before stepping into new territory, but when we trust ourselves and move forward, we find opportunities we might have missed had we stayed hidden in the woods.

Starting something new takes courage. Expanding takes vision. Both require us to be present, patient, and willing to step into the unknown.

Here’s to embracing our inner deer—steady, resilient, and open to possibility. 🌲💫

What “deer moments” have you had lately that reminded you to keep moving forward?

The journey into the world of online therapy proves to be all it’s cracked up to be!

Hey! Thanks for joining me here as we navigate this online therapy adventure... you are here because you believe that healthcare is so much more than the 9-5 hustle and bustle at a busy clinic. People are different. The world is different. Technology can bridge the gap...

So - who am I professionally anyway? I’m a clinical psychologist and owner of Synergy eTherapy.

I chose my line of work purposefully. Being a "shrink" isn't for everyone, and not all of us are created equal. Early on I knew that my "superpower" was in my ability to connect with others in a genuine, supportive manner. It isn't easy to dive deep with a client in their inner most painful moments and hold their vulnerability until the next session. I'm certainly proud and honored to be able to lead my clients along their journey of insight and emotional growth. So why eTherapy? If it ain't broke don't fix it... some may say. Well, I look at our health care system and I see a lot of broke. Access to care is hard. Stigma is still a thing, and I can name at least ten real barriers to going to treatment weekly. So in my opinion, it was time to do therapy differently. Our communities need support. Su***de rates are skyrocketing, especially among our young. The world is stressed out. Who has time for weekly in-person therapy? If we don’t put our self-care first, then what are we going to be left with? I’m proud to say that Synergy eTherapy is one of (if not THE) first online mental health counseling group practices that I started from the ground up, with no other already established online group practice to emulate. To be at the forefront of the intersection of mental heath care and technology is exciting because we now truly can REACH ANYONE who needs and deserves clinical care!

We currently have licensed therapists able to see clients who reside in several states. We meet with our clients over the phone and through secure video chat while they are in the comfort of their surroundings. Our licensed therapists have decades of clinical experience working alongside their clients improving a variety of issues. Synergy is a private pay service with flexible appointment times. We see teens and adults, families and couples. Synergy is the new way to access quality counseling you deserve. We also partner with businesses who would like to easily refer their employees and/or clients to use Synergy eTherapy services. Please schedule a time to chat with me as I would like to help you learn more about all the beneficial ways we can work together to improve mental wellness in your community.
