Today, as I reviewed the intake forms for our Home in Us Couples Retreat, reading why couples are coming and seeing their photos from young lovers to who they are now, I found myself unexpectedly in tears and the song "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane came to mind.
There’s a place only the two of you know.
Not a location, but a feeling.
A remembering of who you were before life got loud.
Home is where we feel safe.
And if we cannot come home to safety and love within our most intimate relationship,
where do we turn when everything else feels uncertain or threatened?
As I looked at these couples, once young lovers, now shaped by countless life lessons, some together for over 20 years, I was reminded why this work matters so deeply to me.
This is where I choose to place my energy.
In creating spaces where partners can come home to one another.
Where relationships are treated as sacred.
Where the foundation is strengthened,
safety is restored,
and love is given the time and presence it needs to deepen and grow.
I'm excited and grateful for the couples who are coming, and I cannot wait to co-create healthier relationships together.

Somewhere Only We Know Lyrics by Keane -
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin
I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin
And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So, why don't we go somewhere only we know?
