Today's practice, we spoke on boundaries. With change happening all around us, once again, it's important to remember our boundaries are valid and necessary.

I invited my students to draw a Bhudda Wisdom card today that held a purpose. Placing the card face up in front of your mat means that you are consenting and open to recieve healing touch/posture assistance. A card face down means you would like your space to be respected and left be. This allows clear communication and a continuation of the practice around SATYA | Truth |. One of our YAMAS | Morals/Ethics |.

You hold the power to set your own rules and boundaries.
Take this as a sign to check in with yourself and notice where in your life you would like to set boundaries. Or, maybe release boundaries that you've held onto longer than necessary.

This is your story. Write each chapter with your own pen 🖋

My person 🖤
Looking back on almost a full year living in the US again...WOW! Talk about a tough first year of marriage. Honesty, no bs, those who are in long term, committed relationships know exactly what I'm talking about! Each one of you has gone through the ringer with your spouse in one way or another this past year and we are no different. We met on a beautiful Caribbean island, travelled the world together, and never once stopped to say, "Maybe we should return to the states one day and get real jobs (whatever the that means)." So getting thrown back into the states from COVID, living in a climate that is the complete opposite to what I've always lived in and having to work a 9-5 job sitting at a desk behind a screen every day has been pure TORTURE for me. Same for Zack as well! He just finished his first year back at college at the age of 31 while also facing his wife's mental breakdowns at least once a week 😅We've been challenged in ways that I never thought would come up for us and we've fought fiercely with/for each other every step of the way.
William Zachary Heintze I will fight with/for you anyday as long as it means you hold me tight on the days I feel like I'm going to break and you lift me up to fly when the ocean breeze is calling my name.

Wednesday is play day for .johnson.yoga and I here 🤸🏼‍♀️.
Flowing through Sun Salutation B and adding in a funky arm balance transition. This sequence works every muscle in your body and brings your focus firmly into your breath.

Now, more than 1/3 of India's population has contracted COVID and they do not have nearly enough supplies to take care of their citizens.
If you practice Yoga, teach Yoga or simply believe in its purpose, now is the time to give back to the homeland.
India has given us so much, from spirituality to Yoga to some of the most incredible flavours and spices.

Power Yoga This Week 🙌🏽.
We are building up with pistol squats this week!

Time to stop the narratives of, "that's too difficult." Or "I'm not flexible enough."

| Mayūrāsana | Peacock Pose 🦚
According to Hindu lore, the peacock symbolizes immortality, love and patience.
This pose has always been a favourite of mine, especially when I am able to share a space to play and flow with friends!

HAPPY EARTH DAY 🌏
My favourite day of the year is here!
This earth day is totally different from years passed but still a celebration non the less.
I've witnessed a different side of Pacha Mamma over the last 8 months and though it's not my favourite, she's still so so beautiful 🌲

Lets celebrate the only home we have today and do something good for the earth!
- Go clean up a park.

- Plant something (maybe start a garden).

- Take the day off from eating meat.

- Bike instead of drive.

- Reduce, re-use, refurbish, recycle.
Whatever you choose, do so with gratitude and love.

Never forget, as much as our earth gives, she can also take away.

You know those places that bring you back to earth.

Those places that make your heart skip a beat from every memory you've accumulated.

Those places that held you at your lowest and boosted you on the epic waves.

That place full of family laughs, chasing dreams and best friend moments you'll never forget.

Those places that, no matter what, you can always call home.

FEMININE/MASCULINE ENERGY

I believe it's important to cultivate a balance between both masculine & feminine qualities. It took a while for me to truly grasp both polarities but the more aware you are of them and their qualities, even if you don't have them, you can still accept and welcome them into your life.

Masculine: The Holder of Space.
Logic, courage, accountability, confidence, fire, force, strength, patterns, structure, rationality, sun, right side of body.
~
Feminism: The Space.
Kindness, compassion, grace, surrender, openness, water, reception, sensuality, moon, left side of body.

You might ask why we can't have both qualities? & my response is not to confuse these polarities with gender roles. Just like in Spanish how the moon is translated to "La Luna" which is feminine. It's intuitive by nature.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic & am open to learning more!

It is going to take a commitment for you to watch this on and it is going to requite change and sacrifice after watching it If you want to do your part and drive critically needed change. But, if we stand together, we can do this...for ourselves, for our communities and this home we call Earth!

This eye opening film by Ali Tabrizi spells it out - the insatiable demand for seafood is at the heart of so many of the most immediate threats facing our oceans today. For every person who deeply cares and is willing willing shift toward an Earth friendly diet, there are millions who either do not know or do not care. For every dollar you and I donate to protect the environment, there are tens of thousands of dollars spent to exploit it.
