🦶Did you know? Nurses don’t diagnose fungal nail infections—but they play a key role in helping you manage them!

At The Foot Nurse, our trained nurses can assess your nail health and make helpful recommendations to support your care. While diagnosis is left to your healthcare provider, we offer expert treatments like using an electric file (rotary tool) to gently reduce the thickness of thickened, fungal nails.

This safe, painless process helps improve comfort, reduces pressure, and makes nails easier to care for while you follow your treatment plan.

If thick or discolored nails are causing you discomfort, reach out to learn how our foot care nurses can support your journey to healthier feet!

How to Don Compression Socks: Easy Tips for Comfort 🤗🧦

Compression socks help improve circulation, reduce swelling, and support foot and leg health. But putting them on can sometimes be tricky, especially if you’re new to wearing them or have limited mobility.

Follow these simple steps to don your compression socks with ease:

✅ Turn the sock inside out up to the heel to make sliding your foot in easier.
Place your toes into the sock first, then gently pull it over your heel.
✅ Pull the sock up your leg gradually, smoothing out any wrinkles or bunching as you go. Wrinkles can cause discomfort or pressure points.
✅ Adjust the top band so it fits snugly but not too tight—comfortable support is key.

Need More Tips? We’re Here to Help!
At The Foot Nurse, we’re happy to share tips and tricks like these during your foot care appointments. If you find putting on compression socks challenging or want personalized guidance and recommendations for assistive devices, book an appointment with us. Say Goodbye to Corns with Expert Care from Your Foot Nurse! 👣✨

Corns can be painful and stubborn, but with professional care, relief is just a step away! Our foot nurses use specialized tools and expert techniques to safely and effectively remove corns, restoring comfort and health to your feet.

Here’s how the process works when removing a corn with a rotary tool (e-file):

1️⃣ Assessment & Preparation
Your foot nurse will first carefully examine the corn and surrounding skin to assess thickness and sensitivity.

2️⃣ Using the Specialized Spherical Burr
The rotary tool is fitted with a carbide spherical burr (also called a spherical carbide bit). This bit is perfect for gently grinding down hard, thickened skin without damaging healthy tissue.

The nurse carefully applies the spherical burr to the corn, gradually reducing its size by smoothing and shaving off layers of hardened skin.
This method is precise and controlled, minimizing discomfort and preventing injury.

3️⃣ Fine Trimming with Nail Nipper
After the bulk of the corn is reduced, a nail nipper may be used to trim any remaining thickened skin edges or hard flakes that the rotary tool can’t reach easily. This ensures a smooth finish and reduces the chance of irritation.

4️⃣ Final Smoothing & Care
The nurse will then smooth the area further and apply moisturizer to promote healing and prevent recurrence.

🩺 Aftercare Advice
You’ll receive personalized tips on foot hygiene, moisturizing, and footwear choices to keep your feet healthy and corn-free.

Why Choose The Foot Nurse for Corn Removal?
✔️Expertise: Skilled in foot anatomy and safe tool use
✔️Precision: Gentle, effective removal, minimizing pain and damage

👣 At The Foot Nurse, we’re dedicated to supporting your foot health with compassionate, expert care.

Did you know our nurses can perform a monofilament test? This simple, painless test uses a thin, flexible filament to gently press against specific spots on your feet. It helps check your ability to feel pressure and sensation — an important step for those with diabetes who may be at risk for diabetic neuropathy.

While we don’t diagnose, this test is an effective way to identify changes in feeling. Depending on the results, we may refer you to your primary care provider, podiatrist, or neurologist for further evaluation and care.

Your feet carry you through life! Let’s keep them healthy together! Visit our website to learn more or schedule your test today. 💜

Understanding Callouses & How We Can Help 🤗

Did you know callouses form as your skin’s natural defense against repeated friction and pressure? When your feet experience constant rubbing (whether from tight shoes, walking, or standing for long hours) your skin thickens to protect the underlying tissues. While callouses are a sign your body is working hard to protect you, they can become uncomfortable and even painful if left untreated.

At The Foot Nurse, we specialize in gentle, effective callous reduction to restore your feet’s comfort and health. Our expert care helps remove thickened skin safely, preventing cracks, discomfort, and infections.

✨ Why reduce callouses?

🔸Prevent pain and discomfort
🔸Improve foot function and mobility
🔸Avoid cracks and infections
🔸Keep your feet soft and healthy

Take the first step toward happy, healthy feet! Visit our website or give us a call to learn more or book your appointment today.

Your feet carry you through life—let us help you keep them comfortable and cared for. 💜👣
