If you're approaching menopause, you may notice changes in how you feel or even experience some memory issues. I love how Angela unpacks the science behind this. She's a compassionate and knowledgeable coach and educator, and I can't wait to share our upcoming podcast discussion about brain health during menopause.

I’ve experienced moments where I’d walk into a room and completely forget why I was even there, only to finally remember after I walked all the way back down the stairs to where I started.
I even had one of those 'stop and stare' moments when I realized I had placed the ketchup bottle in the cupboard instead of back in the fridge. It only happened once, but it was enough to make me wonder, 'Am I losing my mind?' That feeling of losing your focus or mental clarity, even for a second, can be unsettling. I think many of us mid-life women secretly worry it’s the start of something permanent.
Because I wanted to understand what was actually happening to me, I started diving into the research of neuroscientist Dr. Lisa Mosconi. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟: 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬; 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
I learned that estrogen is like a master key that unlocks energy for our brain cells. As those 'keys' become harder to find during the menopause transition, our brains go into a temporary 'low power' mode. It’s a real, biological energy crisis, and we feel it!
But the good news is that your brain is incredibly adaptable. It can rewire itself, but this takes time. This is a pivotal window when our lifestyle choices matter most; focusing on specific health habits now can help ease this transition and make daily challenges feel more manageable.
I recently sat down with Aleisha Theisen on the Wellness Wins Podcast to discuss this further because I want you to know you aren’t broken. I’ll share that conversation with you later this month
But for today, if you find yourself back at the bottom of the stairs or in another room trying to remember what you needed... give yourself some grace.

P.S. I’ll share more about this "renovation" journey every week the remainder of this month as I lead up to the podcast episode. I look forward to diving deeper with you. Have you had one of those "ketchup in the cupboard" moments lately? Tell me I’m not the only one! 👇
