When everything feels like it’s speeding up, Heart-7 (also called Shenmen or “Spirit Gate”) is one of the easiest ways to calm the mind and settle your Shen.

This simple acupressure point is especially grounding during seasonal change, when emotions can run a little higher than usual.

A few slow breaths + gentle pressure = more relaxation, more calm, and better sleep.
If you need a moment today, this one is worth trying.

It’s pumpkin spice latte season… but the seeds are where the real magic happens.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, raw pumpkin seeds help drain dampness….think clearing excess mucus and fluid buildup, while also supporting fertility and hormone balance.

They’re naturally rich in zinc, a key nutrient for ovulation, s***m quality, and overall reproductive health.

Add them to your smoothies, oatmeal, or salads, or enjoy a handful as part of seed cycling to support healthy estrogen levels during the follicular phase.

So yes, sip your PSL… but don’t forget the seeds. 😉

In Chinese culture, the first month after childbirth is known as Zuo Yue Zi — “Sitting the Month.”

It’s a sacred window of rest and restoration where new mothers focus on rebuilding energy, nourishing Blood, and protecting their long-term health.

Meals are warming and gentle. Rest is prioritized over movement. Support from family and community surrounds the new mother so her body, and spirit, can recover fully.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this is more than recovery — it’s the foundation for lifelong wellness.

To our Acupuncturist friends: What guidance do you share with new mothers during this important time? Favorite herbs, rituals, or dietary principles? We’d love to hear your wisdom in the comments below.

Too much Halloween candy? 🎃

Meet Zu San Li (ST36), your post-trick-or-treat recovery point (or in the case of this author, for when you’re eating the candy that you’ve purchased to give away…even though Halloween is over a week away).

In Chinese Medicine, this acupressure spot supports digestion, reduces bloating, and helps keep your energy balanced after indulging a bit too much.

Press gently for 1–2 minutes on each leg, breathe deeply, and give your Stomach Qi a little extra love.

Fall marks the shift from expansion to contraction, a season to breathe deeper and guard your energy.

From the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, the Lung and Large Intestine meridians govern immunity, skin, and emotional release.

💨 Breathe Clear keeps these pathways open and flowing.
🌿 Bounce Back restores balance when fatigue or seasonal stress set in.

The lesson: health begins with rhythm….inhaling strength, exhaling what no longer serves.

Feeling dry skin, grief, or tight chest this season? That’s “Metal Element energy” calling. We’re definitely feeling it here in Minneapolis.

But while we love talking herbs, we also talk dietary therapy whenever we can. Support your lungs and immunity with Metal Element foods. Here are a few of our favorites:

🌬 Pungent (ginger, onions)
🤍 White-colored (pears, mushrooms)
🌱 Roots (sweet potato, turnip)
💧 Moistening (almonds, pear)

Your fall nourishment checklist is right here. And the great news? These all taste incredible this time of the year as the weather changes.

Herb Spotlight: Bai Zhi 白芷
Angelica Dahurica – The Herb of Clarity & Release

Throughout the Metal Element season, our bodies ask for breath, openness, and the courage to let go. Bai Zhi is a classic Lung herb known for its ability to:

✨ Open the nasal passages
🌬 Disperse lingering wind & dampness
🕊 Release what feels “stuck, both physically and emotionally (this author is racing for it right now!)

Used in our Breathe Clear formula, Bai Zhi helps guide the breath upward and outward, offering clarity when heaviness lingers.

Just as trees release their leaves, we, too, are invited to clear what no longer serves.

In the Metal Element season, lungs and grief walk hand in hand.

Autumn invites us to exhale what we no longer need. The stale air. The old sorrow. The unspoken words. And in so doing, we can create space for clarity and courage.

To breathe deeply is to feel.
To cry is to cleanse.
To release is to return to ourselves.

What are you ready to let go of this season?

We are certainly feeling the fall here in Minnesota. And as the seasons shift and Metal takes the lead, our lungs move to the forefront of self-care. 🍂🫁

Diving into Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, autumn is the time of breath, release, and clarity, when dry air and lingering pathogens can challenge our respiratory balance.

Breathe Clear is inspired by the classic formula Zhi Sou San, traditionally used to soothe irritation and support a smooth, open breath.

Not a cure… but a seasonal ritual to help the body let go, just as the trees do.

Breathe deeper. Release gently. Protect your Qi.

The fall winds of change are blowing in Minneapolis, and as the days grow shorter, our internal clocks feel the change too. In Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, each organ system has its own time of peak activity. When you wake up at night, it may be your body’s way of asking for balance in that organ’s Qi.

💤 Trouble staying asleep at 3am? That’s Lung time.

✨ Restless before midnight? That’s Gall Bladder and Liver time.

☀️ Shorter days mean leaning into rest, rhythm, and routines that help keep your Qi flowing smoothly.

We’ll be talking more about sleep in the weeks ahead leading up to the “fall back” time change in November, but until then, where on the body clock do you notice your sleep being disrupted?

👎 Text thumb. 👎 Tech neck. 👎 Stiff wrists.
Your phone isn’t the only thing that needs a recharge.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has explained these aches for centuries: blocked Qi & Blood = stiffness + discomfort.

That’s where Joint Vitality comes in. With 14 herbs, plus collagen + coconut oil, this formula supports circulation, mobility, and strength…for thumbs, wrists, knees, and beyond.

➡️ Make it part of your morning ritual (mix into coffee, tea, or water) and give your joints some herbal love.

Every acupuncture session begins with a conversation, a pulse, and often…a look at the tongue. 👅

Why? Because the tongue reflects what’s happening inside, from digestion to energy reserves, guiding acupuncturists toward the most effective treatment.

As we enter the last quarter of the year 🍂, it’s the perfect time to check in with your acupuncturist. Support your immunity, smooth seasonal transitions, and set yourself up for balance as the year winds down.

✨ Your tongue holds the insights. Acupuncture helps bring them to life.
