{Morning Thoughts} Counting my blessings as I sip my early morning coffee........contemplating what my life would have been like without ALL the twists and turns, the ups and downs, the pain and turmoil.........At the end of it all, whether we would or could change anything, we continue to move forward as best we can.

I am present this morning to the tremendous blessing of having KNOWN since the age of 16 what I wanted to do with my life.

As a midwife I have been fulfilled in so many ways, not the least of which is in the service to women while being witness to the promise and potential of the new life they bring.

This phenomenal musician, Sheku, and this poignant piece, moves me in ways I cannot describe, and as you take a moment to listen, savor your coffee and consider if you can perhaps donate just the cost of your daily coffee to our campaign...........

Your support will enable me and my team to expand our safety net services, to continue to say 'YES, we can help you' to everyone women who presents at our clinics for care - regardless!

As we close out this year we will continue our Giving Tuesday campaign https://www.facebook.com/donate/3170470906303620/ - If we each gave $5 we would reach our goal so quickly!

I am grateful, as always, for each and every one of you. Thank you for helping me live my dream, thank you for caring for moms and babies.

The National Perinatal Task Force is putting forth a call to action. By divine design, we are in constant relationship exchanging energy with our work and with the community at large. Frontline providers, supporters, and advocates are tirelessly working to birth a more just and loving world; and we are in desperate need for space to sustain our own personal well being. We MUST care for OURSELVES while birthing love and justice.

This November as we recognize National Prematurity Awareness month, the National Perinatal Task Force will host our first National Collective-Care Call. Please join us on Thursday, November 21st at 8pm EST for a 1 hour Zoom call. This will be a POC only space for birthworkers and perinatal professionals from across the US to participate in a collective-care activity.

Please share widely and RSVP to perinataltaskforce@gmail.com for call details.
