I’m exhausted… but it’s done.

This 5-piece series pushed me in ways I didn’t expect. There were moments of doubt, moments I wanted to walk away… but I didn’t.

Today I submitted my first juried art show application. And honestly, that feels bigger than anything.
No matter what happens next… I showed up, I finished, and I followed through.

Wild & Unbreakable

Piece #4 in a 5-part series I’m creating for a juried art show.

and chose to stand back up anyway.

Let’s talk about layers.

Up close, you can see every moment… every decision… still living underneath the surface.

This is what people don’t always see.

Paint isn’t cheap. One 16 oz jar of the good stuff is about $60… and it barely covers a few canvases.
And for years… I gave my art away for the cost of supplies.

Why?
Because I wasn’t sure of myself.
I thought I didn’t “look” like an artist.
I thought I had to change my style to fit in.
So I kept myself small.
But not anymore.

I’ve been painting like this for years.

This is my voice. My layers. My story.
And I’m finally owning it.

This piece—Wild & Untamed—is the third painting in a five-piece series.

Sometimes I just need a pause between paintings.
Not everything has to be the next big piece.

With my Spirit Animal Workshop coming up this weekend, I didn’t want to rush into a new series… so I let myself play instead.

For a long time, I let one small comment take up way too much space in my mind.

It sat quietly in the background… shaping how I showed up, how I painted, how much I held back.

And the wild part?
It wasn’t even my voice.

Just something someone said once.

But today, I paint differently.
Not because I suddenly became “better”…
but because I stopped asking for permission.
