🖤 Supporting Black Families Through Housing Instability 🖤

Right now, a Black family in our community — parents with a 6-month-old child is facing housing insecurity.

They’ve been living in a hotel since losing housing in December. With shelters at capacity and extreme cold approaching this weekend, they need $300 to secure another week indoors and safe.

This is a temporary bridge not charity, but community care.

Today we honor all cesarean births and the parents who experienced them.

We also acknowledge that Black birthing people are disproportionately impacted by cesarean births and postpartum complications, highlighting the ongoing need for respectful, equitable care.

Celebrating strength and advocating for change can and should exist together.

My response was what happened you got the epidural - Momma “no but I did get some pain meds” and we laughed. A couple hours later you arrived. Comfort Tools for Labor is generously hosted by Terry Wong, a public health doula and ACTT Facilitator. The session is open to birthing people, partners, and support persons, with a particular invitation to Black birthing people who may be interested in learning more about the Recognizing Obstetric Outcomes Through Safety (ROOTS) Study led by Lauren Morrison, M.A.
