For everyone who has tried everything and is still struggling — this one's for you.

You are not failing. The model is failing you.

This week's blog is about the missing variable in most chronic illness care — and why it's not another supplement, protocol, or diagnosis.

Something I want every person with a chronic illness to hear:

Your symptoms are not proof that you're broken.
They are proof that your body is still trying.

This week's blog is one I've been wanting to write for a long time — about what your body is actually communicating, and what changes when you get curious instead of afraid.

We're live. 🌱

TENDing Foundations officially begins today, and I am so moved by the people who said yes to this first cohort.

This program has been built from the inside out — from years of clinical work, from listening to what patients actually need, and from a deep belief that whole-person care is not a luxury.

If you didn't make it into this cohort, stay close. We'll be back.

Thank you to and for co-creating this vision with me. 💙

Healing doesn't have to be lonely! Get connected with the support you deserve, or connect someone you know who needs this.

Tomorrow, March 31, we begin. 🌱

TENDing Foundations has been months in the making — built from years of clinical practice, deep listening, and a conviction that people with complex health challenges deserve more than a checklist.

If you're ready to stop fighting your body and start tending it, we'd love to have you.

A few spots remain. Tag someone who needs to hear this today. 💙

Something I hear again and again from the people I work with:

"I knew something was wrong long before anyone believed me."

Your body was right. It was communicating — it still is.

TENDing Foundations is a 10-week whole-person program starting March 31 that helps you finally learn the language your body is speaking. Trauma-informed, integrative, and built around the idea that your body is not your enemy.

Spots are limited for this first cohort. Drop a 🌿 in the comments if you want the link, or find it in my bio.

I keep coming back to this piece because it says something I wish every patient could hear before their first appointment.

We've been taught to think of our bodies as machines that break down and need fixing.
*What if they're gardens that need tending instead?*

This is the philosophy behind everything we do in TENDing Foundations — starting March 31.

Many people come into care feeling deep shame about the same thing:

They remember when effort worked. When they could push through, override fatigue, keep going. And now they can’t. And they’ve been quietly calling themselves weak, lazy, or undisciplined ever since.

Dr. Brenna Erickson has a different explanation — one that actually fits the evidence.

What gets labeled as inconsistency is often the nervous system’s intelligent response to a history of overexertion. And pacing — really listening to what your system can sustain — is how healing becomes possible.

“There’s no race here. Just navigation.”

I spent years approaching my own healing the way I’d been taught to approach problems: identify what’s wrong, apply the right fix, expect improvement.

When that didn’t work, I assumed I was missing something. Not trying hard enough. Not doing it right.

It took me a long time to realize the problem wasn’t my effort.

It was the metaphor.

Bodies aren’t machines. They’re living systems. And living systems don’t get fixed — they get tended.

I wrote about what changed when I stopped trying to correct my body and started relating to it differently. It’s the piece I wish someone had handed me years ago. Link in the comments. 🌿

Have you ever felt the gap between what you believed you should be doing — and what your body could actually manage?

That gap, and the guilt it generates, is something Dr. Karen Lawson writes about with extraordinary honesty.

She writes about the Friday she wanted to show up to a protest and couldn’t. About crying all day, feeling like she was failing her community. And about what shifted when she stopped fighting what was true.

“Capacity is not a measure of commitment or care.”

It’s one of the most grounding things I’ve read about navigating collective grief while also navigating a body with limits. Link in the comments. 🌿
