This is a dark day. For so many of us. Bodily autonomy should never be something up for debate. The right to choose should never be up for debate. Our rights that were granted decades ago should still be here and should have never been up for debate. We are existing in a country that's allowing our children to be murdered by indifference and a greater desire for power than to protect their lives, our people with uteruses have to criminalize themselves to seek out life saving care as well as the good doctors wanting to serve them, trans children have to fight for their right to exist, and people of color are still being criminalized and murdered regularly. This country is being run by politicians with narcissism and power complexes who refuse to protect their citizens or give us an ounce of autonomy over our own lives or the right to pursue happiness, safety, and community.

I don't know what comes next, but I know we will rise. Today we can grieve, tomorrow we fight. I am here for you. I am here for women. I am here for trans, non-binary and q***r people. I am here for people of color and marginalized communities. I am here for children. I am here for you.

My name is Ariel Berg-DiGangi (she/her), I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Montana who has been in the Missoula area for over a decade. I spent over five years in the hospice field doing death and dying work previous to opening Thyme Counseling, and preceding that I spent a significant portion of my professional career in adult mental health. Grief work is only one of my passions and specialties, please see my list of other specialties on my website. Being a member of the LGBTQ+ community also gives me a unique and personal perspective to issues experienced within the community, and I also do a lot of relationship and family of origin work with my clients focusing on the attachments we form to the people and things around us.

I approach grief and loss with Stroebe and Shut's Dual Process Model perspective (and apply this model to other issues that you may be facing such as job loss, pet loss, divorce/separation, loss of a relationship), focusing on moving through our grief experiences while attending to life matters that don't stop while we are grieving. I also specialize in group work, and hope to bring support groups for all kinds of losses to the Missoula area.

I primarily work with adults aged 16 and older, however I do work with children and adolescents in acute grief situations as well as LGBTQI matters.

I am currently only offering virtual appointments, and service the entirety of the state of Montana via a secure, HIPPA compliant virtual platform. I will open an office space in the future for in person appointments, however that timeline is undetermined as of now. Please see my website for accepted insurance providers or for private pay rates.
