More information about Remote Area Medical. A volunteer medical service that hosts pop-up clinics throughout the United States to provide free basic healthcare for people who have no access or cannot afford basic healthcare.

I really enjoyed this documentary, Remote Area Medical.

It is about an organization called, Remote Area Medical. Remote Area Medical provides free basic healthcare at pop-up clinics throughout the United States. I've watched it several times. It is one of those documentaries that is sad in some ways. There are people who have difficulty accessing or affording basic healthcare needs. It is also heartwarming to see the doctors, nurses, and other volunteers who give their time and services to help those who need it most.

I find that placing a wire fence panel over my raised beds is effective in keeping my dogs and cats away from my food sources. The dogs can't dig in the bed and the cats can't use it as a litter box. 🐈‍⬛🐕

This year was my best year growing pumpkins in Alabama. Last year was a misadventure growing pumpkins. This year was more of an adventure than a misadventure because I learned from last year's mistakes. Hope you enjoy reading and learn from my mistakes.

Why didn't I think of this?

There are so many drinks and recipes that are 'pumpkin-this' and 'pumpkin-that'. Yet, they are not really pumpkin at all. At best, they are pumpkin spice or some kind of pumpkin flavoring.

This recipe calls for canned pumpkin. I could easily substitute fresh roasted pumpkin in this recipe and I'm sure you could too. I'll post a link to my YouTube demonstration on how to roast a pumpkin in the comments below.

In a large saucepan, bring apple cider, pumpkin, sugars, pie spice, and cinnamon sticks to a boil over medium-high heat, whisking occasionally. Reduce heat to low and whisk in butter until melted. Serve warm.

Make the most of your Halloween fun by using your Jack O'Lantern as both a spooky decoration and as a yummy food source.

Candle smoke will ruin the edible part of the pumpkin. Instead of using a candle, place an LED light inside the Jack O'Lantern. You can use the pumpkin to make a nutritious soup the next day.

Look at what I found on the outside one of the pumpkins I grew! Apparently, he bore a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin so he could worm his way in and out.

I see this in a positive way. This is a sign of a healthy ecosystem. I don't use pesticides other than organic pesticides. I don't recall using any organic pesticides on my pumpkins this year, so I guess this is to be expected from time to time.
