After more than a century of commitment to the region’s care, Infirmary Health has created a nationally recognized cancer program. Infirmary Cancer Care is set apart from other cancer programs due to the scope of our comprehensive program and streamlined patient care access. Multi-interdisciplinary teams of experts collaborate on each patient’s case during our renowned weekly tumor conferences; access is also provided to personal cancer navigators, who guide patients every step of the way. Advances in technology—from 3D mammography and Hidden Scar surgery to the most advanced radiotherapy delivery systems such as the TrueBeam Linear Accelerator—have helped us attract top physicians and staff from around the nation. Our program has been recognized by the Commission on Cancer for our commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality and multidisciplinary patient care. Infirmary Cancer Care has also earned an accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). NAPBC- accredited centers embrace the entire spectrum of cancer care, providing women with access to a range of board-certified specialists, including breast surgeons, breast radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast pathologists, plastic/reconstructive surgeons, genetic counselors and psychosocial support professionals. Infirmary Cancer Care is currently one of three NAPBC-accredited centers in the state of Alabama. Appointments with our cancer experts are fast-tracked in order to deliver care as quickly as possible. From prevention and diagnosis through rehab and follow-up, patients only need to remember one name — Infirmary Cancer Care and one phone number — 251-435-CARE.
