It’s currently 2 am and I’m just now getting ready for bed. Our suites are cleaned and mopped daily with pad being changed everyday. Tomorrow mom is getting a bath because taking care of mom is a priority too.

I’m sure you guys remember the litter of babies I had to split into 2 groups. I’m not going to go too deep into to detail, but I will say this when it comes to taking puppies to the vet for cosmetic treatment. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE evaluate the cleanliness of the vet some veterinary clinics aren’t as sterile as others which puts more of a strain on the whelper (ME) when the litter returns. Out of 16 babies only 6 have been able to successfully survive an incurable virus that they are born with but has to be woken up unfortunately these babies were just too young when they were exposed, so I’ve doing a lot of work to strengthen immune systems and make them as comfortable as possible. This part of my job doesn’t get any easier because of the love and compassion I have for these babies(as if they were my own) especially when it’s something I can’t control/fix. These last few weeks have been rough from the dehydration, tube feeding, seizures etc. but I can happily say we made it through!!! This is not to point fingers at veterinary clinics or the Breeder/Owner. Just please remember you are the voice of your fur babies so advocate for them and say the things they can’t.

Litter number 2 is almost 3 weeks old pretty soon they’ll be off to their new homes 🥹. It feels like just yesterday it was Friday the 13th and I was getting the call that Big Mama was in labor. Time flies when you do what you love. This litter contains 14 puppies all except for 2 are looking for their new 🏠.

I already know someone is going to say something so I’m going to address it ahead of time. Yes, their tails were docked today as well as declaws were removed. This is breeder’s PREFERENCE it’s a sensitive topic so I’m not going to speak too much on it, but for Doberman Pinschers it is the standard for showing. The surgery itself is minimally painful if you do within the correct amount of time after birth. Theirs went well!!! Group A consists of 2 girls (pink and purple) and 6 boys( gray, red, blue, green, yellow, and orange) each puppy in this group is already weighing more than a pound. She has 16 puppies, we lost 3 due to them being breached during delivery. 3 girls, 10 boys. Some of them will be looking for their FurEver homes. STAY TUNED!!!!
