So this week has been full of high highs and low lows. Stress manifests itself differently for everyone. I had to walk away from certain things. I realized how intentional I have to be this year. That's hard. 😭

Augie has been sick all weekend. 3am came way too early for me today. So no school for him tomorrow, but he is plowing through it with a lot of medicine.

We brought in a new dog, Henry. He is a 5 year old, duck hunting dog, who needed a home with purpose. For those of you playing the home game, we have 9 dogs right now. He had loving guardians, but knew he wasn't living his best life. We hope to do that for him. We are all full. So none y'all be sending me pics of more "free" animals.

We also had the most loving gift of two refrigerators. A friend and neighbor bought one at an auction for us, refusing to pay for it. 💜

The other came from some neighbors up the road that we had the pleasure of meeting. The surplus of eggs and getting ready for the garden this year made it necessary to get some new (to us) appliances so we can do it all right.

So one thing has changed from last year in regards to social media. I just can't be arsed if I don't feel like it. I don't care about the algorithms and the weekly challenges. I post when I want to post, and I post WHAT I want to post. Don't like it? You have the brilliant ability to scroll past. All good, no worries.

The greenhouse is full of seeds. Just starting to see some herbs sprouting and my gogi berries. Eek.

Augie is taking 5 by the âš½. Dancing and playing and just being a kid.

We have 30 new chicks, some from Augie's classroom in their brooders and new quail chicks we hope to add in the next couple of weeks.

Going to put on the old marking harness on Frank Sinatra (our ram) and have some August lambs. Better late than never.

Brandon is back in Bloomington after a year in Franklin. So strange to have him home again. I'm not complaining though. Feels good. Something is right in the world again.

Also, if you want eggs, we only have about 20 dozen at the farm, lol. They are laying like crazy!!!

What I looked like doing the morning feeding. And the evening feeding. Do I care? Nope. Some days of farming mean it is more important to just get it done than to look camera ready. If you all would have seen a full picture effect, you would have gotten a treat.

Everyone's fed. Everyone's warm. And the nutter butter doodle recovering from surgery has stopped pi***ng me off for the time being. Happy Sunday all!!! Best of luck tomorrow.

The egg fridge at the farm is full of eggs now that the temps are leveling off. We should have a steady supply down there now. $4 a dozen. Cash box is opposite the egg fridge.

Johnny's Grub to Go for the win!!! If you haven't tried their food, you are seriously missing out. I can't wait til the weather warms up and we can start going out there again. Now, if you haven't tried their cakes......what are you waiting for??????

I asked for a Spider-Man cake for our 5 year olds birthday and what we got was beyond our expectations. Everyone ooh and ahhd over it all afternoon. I think my dad drove 5mph from Nashville so nothing got ruined.

It's such a special place with truly special people running it. My husband and I agreed we won't go anywhere else for cakes from now on. Or Phillipino food. ✅ Them out of you haven't already.

So I have been so concentrated on other things that I haven't posted anything cool on here in a bit. Jobs, events, kids, illness, the cold. Same thing as most of you all have been dealing with in some form.

We were cooped up the past weekend and into the week with 15 inches of snow.

I thought..... Make a video of Brandon driving my 6070 Allis Chalmers, fully restored, up the lane to plow us out. Posted it on Instagram thinking it was a cool a$$ video. Low and behold we are at 11.7k views. It seems silly and minor to most, but when you are small, that's a big achievement.
