My ex husband and I had gotten clean together and he "never hit me again..." for a while. Until he started drinking again. We got into an argument, one thing led to another and he hit me upside my head with his full face motorcycle helmet. It had been over a decade. My heart was broken 💔
If someone has harmed you, they've shown what they are capable of, at the very least! They can do it again, it is only a matter of time and "the right" circumstances.
Bottom line: if you are experiencing pain in your relationship- this is merely a karmic lesson. Walking away is the resolution. Real love lie beyond and away from this challenge. 🙏

“I do get to treat you like this! It's just a matter of how long you are willing to put up with it!” was his response to me sitting on the floor, crying, telling him he doesn't get to treat me like this.

That is when I finally understood that when a person continues to hurt you, it's a choice they've made, and that won't change. They may offer apologies or promises, but actions speak louder than words, and the cycle will repeat. It becomes clear that waiting for them to change is a path filled with heartbreak and pain. The power to end the hurt lies with you, and walking away becomes a necessary step toward healing. Realizing this truth is painful, but it shifts the focus from trying to change someone else to taking control of your own well-being. 💔❤️‍🩹❤️
