🎃 Happy Halloween, Mokena! 👻

The Mokena Police Department would like to wish everyone a fun and safe Halloween! 🧡 Trick-or-Treating hours in the Village of Mokena are 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM today.

🚸 Halloween Safety Tips:

🚦Always stay on sidewalks and use crosswalks when crossing the street.
💡Make sure costumes are bright or have reflective elements so you’re visible after dark.
🔦Carry a flashlight or glow stick.
🍬Only visit homes with porch lights on and never enter a stranger’s home.
🚙 Motorists—please drive slowly and stay alert for excited trick-or-treaters!

If you’re not participating in Trick-or-Treating, you can display a “No Tricks-or-Treats” sign on your front door or in a visible area to let families know your home isn’t taking part in tonight’s activities. 🏠

🎃 Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy the Halloween spirit responsibly!

🎃 Our Annual Halloween PSA! 🍬

Not every trick-or-treater looks or acts the same — and that’s okay! 💛

👻 If a child isn’t wearing a costume, they might have sensory sensitivities — or maybe a costume just wasn’t in the budget this year. Give them candy!

🧡 If someone doesn’t say “trick or treat,” they might be nonverbal, shy, or just doing their best. Give them candy!

💜 If a teen shows up, be glad they’re out having fun and making memories. Give them candy!

🖤 If an adult is trick-or-treating, they might be collecting for someone else — or maybe they just love Halloween as much as you do. Give them candy!

At the end of the night, it’s all about kindness, inclusion, and a little Halloween magic. 🍭✨
