Meet Our Team Monday 💛

Maddy, SLP

What do you love most about being a pediatric SLP?
I love building strong connections with both children and their families. I also LOVE playing! Getting to see how every child plays differently and using that to connect, support, and help them grow in their communication skills and confidence is one of my favorite parts of the job. I enjoy the problem-solving side of therapy alongside both the child and their caregivers to help promote carryover across environments. I’m passionate about creating a space where kids feel safe, comfortable, and free to be themselves without pressure. I truly care so much about each of my kiddos 💛💭🌈

Favorite Disney movie:
Lilo & Stitch 🌺🌊☀️

A little about my education:
I earned both my undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth ❄️🏒🌲

What do you love most about being a pediatric Early Interventionist?
Lisa shares, “I love supporting families and being a part of their team—helping them find the resources and therapies their children need. I enjoy collaborating with therapists to make sure we’re all working toward the same goal. Being able to empower families and watch children reach developmental milestones through play makes this job so rewarding.”

Education:
Lisa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education from Wilmington University in Delaware.

Megan, Savannah, and Jayden had the opportunity to provide an in-service at Pinewood focused on the role of Occupational Therapy in schools. They loved connecting with staff and sharing ways OT supports students’ success in the classroom and beyond!

Kayla is a dedicated COTA who loves having the privilege of walking alongside her clients from day one all the way to graduation. Watching their growth and seeing how far they progress is one of the most rewarding parts of what she does. 💛

Kayla earned her Associate’s degree from Trident Technical College, graduating magna cm laude.

Meet Our Team Monday: Alessia, SLPA ✨

What I love most: 💙

Being an SLPA is incredibly rewarding because it allows me to help kids access communication in ways that highlight their strengths and work best for them. Building relationships with clients, getting to know each child’s interests, and using those to guide self-motivated, meaningful learning is one of my favorite parts of the job. Establishing connections with families is just as important, helping parents and caregivers feel confident supporting their children as they navigate the world around them.

Collaboration across disciplines is another part that makes this field so fun. I love learning from occupational and physical therapists and incorporating ideas from their disciplines to empower each child to connect and grow .

It’s such a fulfilling field, and I feel lucky to help kids build communication, confidence, and independence every day.

I earned my Bachelor’s in Communication Disorders from SUNY New Paltz 🦅🎓

Our kiddos at Vantage have been getting into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with fun, creative crafts during therapy sessions! From shamrocks to rainbows, each activity helps build important skills like fine motor coordination, following directions, and expressive communication—all while having so much fun. 🌈💚
