Fit and Fasted at 42: My journey to health.
Two years ago, I was 220lbs. Lexi and I were in the early stages of starting our Fasting Retreats. I had done a number of fasts over the previous years, but hadn't started taking it seriously yet.
I constantly felt bloated, because I was. I was eating foods that didn't agree with me, and I was simply eating too much and too often.
Then I made a change. I started fasting more. Intermittent fasting a couple times a week. A 24 or 36 hour fast once a month. And the crown jewel of fasting - a 72 hour fast once every 3 months.
The transformation amazed me. My energy improved. The constant bloating and digestive issues that had plagued me for years prior, melted away. So did the extra pounds that had accumulated around my waist. I had more energy throughout the day, energy I used to workout more. Even my relationship with food has been altered, which is a game-changer.
Here I stand today at 42 years old, weighing 190 pounds and I am in better shape now than I've been since my mid-20s.
Fasting helped me lose 30lbs in 2 years, and 20lbs of that was in the last 6 months. And I've done it the healthy way, no crash diets, fads, or starving myself. Fasting is backed by science to not only aid in weight-loss, but to heal gut health, and also fight and stave off chronic disease. My bloodwork and biomarkers have all improved, some significantly. It's not about how my body looks, that just gets the attention. I feel so much better, because I am better. Healthy, fit, and fasted.
Having an auto-immune disease, I have a weakened immune system, but with fasting on my side, I don't get sick, even with our 4 kids in the house constantly bringing the latest gunk home from school or elsewhere. Fasting for 72 hours completely regenerates all the cells in your immune system. It's my secret weapon to avoid a sick day.
If anyone has felt similar to how I used to feel and would like to make a change, reach out to me! I love helping others get healthy, it's what I do!
If I can do it, so can you!!
