🇺🇸 Honoring those who served together. 🇺🇸
These photos were taken during our Veterans Day service in November, a meaningful moment of gratitude, reflection, and connection. We are deeply thankful for our strong partnership with the 303rd U.S. Army Tactical Psychological Operations Company of Coraopolis, whose members play an important role in our veteran-to-veteran volunteer program.
Having veterans support fellow veterans brings a level of understanding, respect, and shared experience that words can’t fully capture. It’s one of the many ways we ensure every veteran in our care feels seen, honored, and supported.
💬 Veteran Volunteer Spotlight:
Below is a statement from volunteer and fellow veteran Fatma Jahan (pictured), sharing what serving veterans through this program means to her:
Statement from SSG Fatema Jahan as a volunteer for Bridges Hospice
It is a great honor for me to be selected as a volunteer for Bridges Hospice, being a current active member of the United States Army Reserve. I, along with a few members of our reserve unit in Coraopolis, PA has had the great opportunity to work with Pastor Larry Coultura to attend some of the Veterans Café events throughout the western PA regions. We had a great time conversing with retired senior veterans from Korea, Vietnam, and other assignments recalling their experience. We presented some ID tags to some of these veterans who were very thrilled to have them. I consider these veterans as a living example of history that we can get great lessons and draw inspiration from. It’s been a wonderful experience working with the volunteer coordinators, medical staff, as well as other volunteers.
Sincerely,
SSG Fatema Jahan, U.S. Army Reserve
To every veteran who has served, and to those who continue to serve through compassion and presence, we thank you. It is truly our privilege.
