Growing up with an emotionally immature parent can create patterns in your adult life you might not even notice.
If as a child you felt like you had to be the ‘easy’ child, like you had to walk on eggshells, your feelings were dismissed or ignored, or you became the emotional support for your parent, you may have had an emotionally immature parent.
As an adult, you might now avoid conflict and difficult emotions, or find you have a hard time setting boundaries and feel responsible for other peoples’ feelings.
This is not about blaming your parents, but about helping name what you experienced in the past, so you can shift your present.
If this resonates with you, we hope you’ll join our
Support Group for Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents

Led by Heather Coleman, LCSW, this is a space to safely explore patterns, process your experiences, and build healthier relationships, with others and with yourself.
