Cold plunging gets talked about a lot lately, and for good reason: research shows it can support nervous system regulation, improve stress resilience, reduce inflammation, and enhance mood.

But cold plunging can also be a powerful mind-body practice.

When approached with guidance and intention, intentional cold exposure becomes an opportunity to work with your breath, stay present with sensation, and build capacity in real time. It’s not about toughness — it’s about learning how to meet discomfort with steadiness.

Cold Plunge 101 is a small-group introduction designed to help you explore this practice safely and confidently. Led by therapist and cold plunge expert, Zachary Schwartz, LCSW, you’ll learn the benefits of cold exposure, what to expect, how to use your breath as your anchor, and how cold-plunging can become a somatic practice to build resilience. Then, with expert coaching and group support, you’ll experience a 2–3 minute guided plunge.

We hope you’ll take the plunge and join us!

Maybe this year you’re thinking about starting therapy, but hesitation and fear around the unknown are holding you back. That’s normal!

Acknowledging our fear is the first step to moving past it, so let us help by exploring some of the most common fears around therapy, and gentle, reassuring reframes.

Therapy isn’t about fixing you or forcing change. It’s a collaborative space where you move at your own pace, explore what matters to you, and receive support without judgment.

When you’re ready, we’re here to meet you with care, respect, and compassion.

Holistic therapy honors the full picture — mind, body, emotions, and lived experience.

Research in neuroscience and trauma-informed care shows that healing is most effective when we support not just thoughts, but the nervous system, the body, and our need for safety and connection. That’s why holistic care often integrates talk therapy with somatic, mindfulness, and experiential approaches.

At the Mind Body Therapy Collective, we believe healing works best when multiple pathways are available — thoughtfully, gently, and at your pace.

Meet new Collective member, Zachary Schwartz — a therapist with over 21 years of experience whose work is rooted in relationship, presence, and meaningful change.

Zack brings a practical, psychoanalytic foundation to his work while meeting each client with care, curiosity, and attunement. He believes the therapeutic relationship itself is central to healing, creating a calm and supportive space where insight, emotional regulation, and growth can unfold — both inside and outside the therapy room.

Sessions may include:

• Emotional exploration

• Insight into patterns & blind spots

• Thought awareness & coping tools

• Compassionate challenge

• Attention to the body’s signals

Zack works with adults, adolescents, and families, and integrates a mind–body perspective informed by his teaching and practice of hot yoga and cold plunging.

Winter can feel heavier, slower, or more reflective than other times of the year — and that’s completely natural.

Some therapies are especially supportive during this season, helping you feel grounded, regulated, and cared for. From body-based approaches like Somatic Therapy to reflective practices like IFS, and gentle modalities like Reiki, there are ways to nurture both mind and body when the days are short and energy feels low.

This winter, consider giving yourself permission to explore approaches that meet you where you are — with warmth, presence, and support.

Love doesn’t have to be grand gestures or romantic declarations — it lives in the small, everyday moments.

Here are 5 simple ways to invite more love & warmth into your days –

Check in with yourself and give your mind, heart, and body what it needs.
Reach out to someone you care about.
Move your body in any way that feels good.
Practice gratitude and notice the small joys in life.
Do something nourishing for yourself.

These little acts invite warmth, connection, and care into your daily life.

Remember: love shows up in many forms — through yourself, your community, and the moments that make your heart feel full.

Growing up with an alcoholic parent can leave lasting patterns that show up in adulthood — difficulty trusting others, people-pleasing, shame, anxiety, or challenges in relationships. These patterns are common, and you don’t have to navigate them alone.

Our Support Group for Adult Children of Alcoholics offers a structured, safe, and supportive space to explore these experiences, process emotions, and practice relational repair. Through feelings check-ins, reflective writing, and somatic, creative, and movement-based exercises, members build connection, insight, and healing — together.

Wednesdays

1 - 2:30 PM

Facilitated by Heather Coleman, LCSW
