It's National Veterinary Technician Week! Our technicians have all graduated from an accredited Veterinary Technology program, which is not required by New Jersey. They have worked so hard to get where they are that they deserve a celebration ALL WEEK LONG!
Anna and Lysha are likely the people you see most often, but your pets may have also met with Susan, Jess, or even Sarah, who fill in as often as they can. Amanda Ysabel is working as an assistant at Katz & Dogs while she is in school, working to obtain her degree as a veterinary technician.
They are the first ones to comfort your pets while they wake up from surgery, the calming voice when your furbabies are scared for a blood draw or nail trim, the confidant restrainer when they are acting head-strong, and are also the ones taking care of some of the "dirty work" around the hospital like getting stool samples off to the lab. They do it for the love and care that comes along with the hard goodbyes and the new hellos. It's not an easy job, but boy, does the health and happiness of your pets make it worthwhile.
They are the glue that holds this profession together. Remember to show your appreciation, this week and always.
