BridgeValley dental hygiene students captured the attention of children and parents alike at the Montgomery General Hospital Kids Fair with fun, interactive patient education and colorful dental-themed temporary tattoos. Our goal was to make oral health engaging, approachable, and fun. Judging by the smiles and excitement at our booth, we succeeded.

HIRING AN RDH!

Kanawha Valley Dental Group is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join their dental team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality oral care, patient education, and preventative services. The RDH will work closely with KVDG dentists and support staff to ensure every patient receives the best care possible in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleanings, scaling and root planing, and fluoride treatments

Take and develop dental X-rays (as permitted by state law)

Conduct oral cancer screenings and assess periodontal health

Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, disease prevention, and post-operative care

Review and update patient medical and dental histories

Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in the practice management system

Apply sealants

Maintain a clean and sterile environment following infection control protocols

Collaborate with the dentist and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care

Stay current with continuing education and professional development

Qualifications:

Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in West Virginia

Current CPR/BLS certification

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of dental software (Eaglesoft) is a plus

Commitment to patient care, professionalism, and teamwork

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

Enthusiastic and patient-focused with a gentle chairside manner

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment

Pay commensurate with experience!
