US Department of Labor settles with Kaiser for $31 Million over inadequate mental health networks, and more:

U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration secured $31 million settlement with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan resolving federal investigations into inadequate mental health provider networks affecting California employer-sponsored plans since January 2021.

Jama study shows 20-40% of households with children in need had difficulty or were unable to access mental health treatment. This is at least the third recent national study which has shown this trend. Health plans includibg Medicaid managed care pkans, need to incentivize mental health providers Current practices, including increased scrutiny and audits, as well as lower pay than medical colkeagues, disincentivize.
