Meet our 2026 Champion Child, Carter Casey 💙🏁
Nine-year-old Carter loves anything that gets him outside — riding dirt bikes, jumping on the trampoline, and playing sports with his older brother. During a Fourth of July camping trip in 2024, a go-kart crash left Carter with life-threatening injuries and fighting to breathe.
Thanks to the quick actions of first responders and the expert team at WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital, Carter underwent multiple surgeries and spent several days in the Pediatric ICU before beginning his road to recovery.
Today, Carter is back to doing what he loves most — playing football, riding dirt bikes, and enjoying the outdoors. 💪⚽🏍️
As our 2026 Champion Child, Carter represents the strength, resilience, and joy of the kids and families we care for every day. We’re so proud to share his story!
