🌿 NAMI Labyrinth Walk | Soft Launch of Rooted in Respite 🌿
Last night we shared something special — our first soft launch of Rooted in Respite at the NAMI Labyrinth Walk!
Guests were invited to take home a plant propagation — a small, living symbol of growth and calm. My favorite part was watching people go from a little hesitant to glowing with joy as they picked out and took home their very own plant.
At Rooted in Respite, we offer private and group classes that connect people to nature through hands-on plant activities and mindful practices. Each session helps reduce stress, spark creativity, and nurture a positive connection with the natural world.
🌸 Interested in bringing a nature-based experience to your group?

🌿 Big news! 🌿
Easy to Love Plants is growing in a new direction — and with that, I’m changing the name to Rooted in Respite.
What started as a little pandemic plant business has blossomed into something deeper. I’ve loved helping people find the right plant for their home, but lately my heart has been in creating experiences — nature-based classes that bring people together, slow things down, and remind us how good it feels to connect with plants (and each other).
Rooted in Respite will focus on workshops and community classes where we can recharge, create, and grow —
Thank you for being part of this journey - and never forget - you are SO EASY TO LOVE 🌸

This weekend I had the priviledge of hosting a Private Tea Cup Garden Class -- virtually.
This group of friends were celebrating over 40 years of friendship, taking time to connect with themselves and each other. We discussed the impact of using nature-based activities as a way to engage the senses and calm the mind.
I'm booking out for the end of the year and my claendar is filling up quickly! If you have a group or a team that could use a meaningful nature-based experience together, DM me for more information!

My motto is simple: “Plants Make People Grow.” And every time I teach, I see it come to life. 🌱✨

Can you believe this?
Last week I traveled to Minneapolis to meet one of my horticultural therapy classmates from UTK for the very first time. Together, we had the opportunity to shadow Cindy—a horticultural therapist with over 30 years of experience.
Over the course of several days, we worked with a variety of groups: women living with severe and persistent mental illness, people in transitional housing, and seniors in memory care. Each setting offered its own unique lessons and moments of beauty.
One story in particular has stayed with me.
At a senior center, we gathered in their enclosed garden space. Some participants came on their own, others were wheeled in. One woman arrived looking lost and deeply puzzled, unsure of where she was or why she was there. But then came the basil.
The moment she smelled and tasted its leaves, her entire expression transformed—her face lit up with recognition. She remembered running barefoot through her father’s garden, recalling how he let the children pick any herbs or vegetables they wanted, as long as they promised to try them.
It was such a powerful reminder of how something as simple as the scent of a plant can open doors to memory, joy, and connection.
I realized, in that moment, that this is exactly what I want to do with the next chapter of my life.
So—change is coming. A new business name. More classes. More opportunities to share this work.
One thing remains certain: plants have an extraordinary power to help us relax, connect, and restore.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it—Plants Make People Grow. 🌿

Even when planted at the same time, every seed grows at its own pace. 🌱
Some sprout quickly, reaching for the sun in days, while others take their time, building quiet strength below the soil. Your journey is no different—trust the timing, and keep nurturing your growth. 🌸'

This pandemic hit me, like many of you, in a real weird way.
Long story short: I turned to my house plants and found MY PLANTS BROUGHT ME BACK TO LIFE.
Before, I bought most of my plants at big box stores and most of them lived about a month. Having the time on my hands, I started doing a lot of research. Not only in today's fads, but also those of yesteryear. I've found some similar themes, I tested them out, and voila! I've figured out a very unscientific way to classify plants as "easy to love + hard to kill."
While taking care of plants, we slow down. We put down our phones, we focus on what is real + good.
Everyone deserves a beautiful houseplant that will purify their air and bring growth + life into their home -- yes, even you plant killers out there.
I'm using over 17 years of instructional design experience, my love for creative collaborations, and my passion for plants to create a service-oriented company to grow with your home + business.
