Sneakers Story of a 5 mo old Pittie, named Sneakers who was dropped off at Muncie Animal Shelter in July '13 with a horrible leg injury. CLICK HERE to learn more.

Sneakers a 5/6 month old Pit who was brought into Muncie Animal Shelter back in July 2013 that our family agreed to foster. They weren't quite sure what happened to his leg, however we think it may have been tied off with cable wire as it was apparent that something had been wrapped around his leg. When It's a Pittie Rescue rescued Sneakers his wound on his leg looked nothing like it did from their pics and they had him for 5 days and had not treated him properly as you can see from the pics. There was a long road to recovery for this pup. For 2 weeks AWCM treated Sneakers to try and save his leg. The leg began to heal with the proper antibiotics and care. However, Sneakers' infection was so bad that after a week of treatment his toes began to fall off and he would have a clubbed foot needing either a prosthetic paw or a full leg amputation. Due to possible complications of prosthesis the rescue and I both decided it was best to amputate. Within 24 hours post operation, Sneakers was a different pup and on his way to recovery. I wanted to share with all of you that helped with Sneakers’ wheelchair have now touched another life. Meet Ringo! Ringo has a special place in my heart. I helped Ringo and his mama who adopted him with some training awhile back. Ringo is the sweetest boy but yet has been aging and hardly was able to use his back legs. His mama contacted me and asked if she could see if Sneakers’ wheelchair would be a good fit for Ringo. We are happy to say it worked perfectly and Ringo is so excited about his new wheels 💙 Look at that Pittie smile. This made my heart smile and his mama’s as well!
