Fraxel is often viewed as a cosmetic treatment, but emerging research suggests its benefits may extend beyond appearance.

A 2023 study published in Dermatologic Surgery found that patients who underwent nonablative fractional laser treatments had a decreased risk of developing subsequent facial keratinocyte carcinomas compared to those who did not receive treatment.

While fractional laser treatments do not replace sun protection or routine skin cancer screenings, this research highlights their role in supporting long-term skin health through improved cellular turnover and skin renewal.
