✨Client Testimonial - Jessica Barrett✨
Reflecting on the past 6 months
👉 When you first came to Doors of Hope, what were you hoping to gain or change in your life?
- "I was hoping to gain stability and relief from the chaos addiction had created in my life. I wanted to stop using but more than that I wanted to stop hurting myself and the people I love. Also, the desire to regain custody of my daughter was a major motivation. I wanted to understand why I kept repeating destructive patterns and learn how to manage emotions without turning to substances."
👉What is one accomplishment you’re especially proud of from the last six months?
- "Staying committed to the program while also maintaining a job and consistently reporting to probation. For a long time, follow- through was something I struggled with."
👉How has being in the program helped you grow personally or emotionally?
- " Emotionally I’ve grown in self-compassion and honesty. I’m starting to understand my patterns and triggers and take responsibility for them instead of blaming circumstances or other people. This growth has helped me build healthier relationships, show up consistently, and feel more confident in my ability to handle life without substances."
Looking Ahead: The Next 6 Months

I want to continue building a life free from addiction and a life where I can show up fully for myself, my daughter, and my future."
👉What areas of growth do you want to continue focusing on before graduation?
- "Following through on commitments, maintaining structure, and staying accountable in all areas of my life. Strengthening boundaries so I can protect my recovery and make decisions that reflect my values. Finally, I want to focus on deepening my relationship with my daughter by applying the skills I’m learning here and showing her that I can be a stable, reliable and present parent."
👉How would you describe what this program has meant to you?
- "This program has meant so much to me because it’s giving me structure, support, and the tools to truly change my life. Most of all the staff have been incredible with their guidance, encouragement, and belief in me have kept me motivated, even when things were hard. they’ve helped me build accountability, manage my emotions, and take real steps toward the life I want for myself and my daughter. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their support."
