Today is my mom Viola’s birthday. She passed several years ago, but every June 23rd, I honor her through an act of kindness.

This year, I felt called to share something personal—a simple breath technique we used to practice together during her battle with COPD.

It’s called pursed lip breathing—and while it’s often used to support respiratory health, it’s also one of the most accessible and effective tools to ease anxiety, something nearly all of us are feeling these days.

With everything happening in the world—we’re living in a constant state of activation.
Anchoring in your breath for just a couple of minutes can stimulate the vagus nerve-a key player in the parasympathetic nervous system.

In this video, I’ll guide you through this calming breathwork practice that:
— Activates your parasympathetic nervous system
— Slows the breath and heart rate
