Samaritan Recovery Community welcomed a full house for our recent Lunch & Learn featuring Matt Yancey, Deputy Commissioner with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Commissioner Yancey shared insight into the scope of programs and initiatives the State has in place to support providers and the individuals they serve, as well as ongoing efforts to address mental health needs across Tennessee.

Samaritan Recovery Community is proud to be among the first recipients of a grant from the Tennessee Titans’ new Home Field Advantage Catalyst Fund, a housing support initiative under the Neighborhoods pillar of the team’s ONE Community platform. This investment reflects the Titans’ ongoing commitment to strengthening neighborhoods across Nashville and Middle Tennessee.

Executive Director Dr. Mark Lasko accepted the grant on behalf of Samaritan House and emphasized its impact, noting, “This is important support for our clients and so many people — and neighborhoods — across our city. We are pleased to be part of this special Titans initiative.”

In its inaugural awards cycle, ONE Community distributed $805,000 to 14 Nashville housing nonprofits, supporting work in emergency shelter services, affordable housing development, rental assistance, homeowner assistance, supportive housing, and community development programming.

We were honored to have an amazing group of volunteers from Gallatin Center for Rehabilitation & Healing spend the day with us at Samaritan!

They jumped right in and helped with mulch work, window washing, and reupholstering our seats. We are grateful for their hard work and generosity.

Thank you for helping us keep our community spaces welcoming for all. 💙
