I wanted to take a moment to share that after nearly 4 years at Nashville Therapy Group, I have opened my own private practice, Stillwood Therapy LLC, which officially launched Jan 1. This transition is the next chapter of a long-held dream, and only possible with the support and encouragement of my family, and lots of friends and colleagues along the way. My practice is primarily referral-based, meaning, people find me through the recommendations of those who know and trust me. When your own therapist who you trust suggests a book, you go to Amazon and buy it, which I did, and promptly read it…well, it took a minute! I enjoyed it so much, I refer it to my own clients. A good intro for anyone curious about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

My childhood best friend taught me how to make an inflatable origami balloon, which I still remember some 35 years later. I had the joy of sharing that today while also learning how to make a paper boat. Any day where therapy and art intersect is a great day!

This is a question I love to ask my clients. When things aren't going exactly the way you'd hoped, it's really easy to identify what your partner, friend, family member, co-worker, etc., should be doing differently. It's a lot harder to look inward and identify what YOU could be doing differently to disrupt harmful patterns and see positive change in the relationship.
