a reminder i’ve needed in this season & thought i’d share with you too 🤎⁣

little movements matter. ⁣
small wins are still victories. ⁣
each triumph matters. ⁣
progress and going forward. ⁣
it all adds up. ⁣

𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨. ⁣
give yourself grace. ⁣
and keep making those little movements. ⁣

which maybe this is why i am so passionate about being the gatekeeper of your thoughts because man — some negative people and negative ones will. add. up. ⁣
⁣
but in the same way — think on things that encourage your heart, surround yourself with those that speak life — and watch it add up. ⁣
⁣
so i don’t know what little details you need to shift today. ⁣
maybe what you need to do in your free time. ⁣
if you need to unfollow some people. ⁣
put your phone down for a night. ⁣
⁣
or maybe you need to give gratitude to someone. ⁣
or start a new devotional. ⁣
or just tell yourself to keep adding your days together. manna for the day. ⁣

but it all adds up. ⁣
stack the grace. ⁣

it’s not the wild milestones that you look back on and decide “that’s our family”.
if i asked you to describe your family you’d tell me about the ordinary days.
the in betweens.
the random nighttime routines.
and the victories you’ve overcome every day.

you might be tired, swollen, unsure.⁣
maybe you don’t love the way clothes are feeling right now. ⁣
or maybe you just think they’re awkward. ⁣

here’s what i’ve learned after years of documenting these stories — ⁣
𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙚𝙨 will one day want to see what you looked like carrying them.⁣
they’ll want to know the 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 before it stretched to include theirs.⁣
and 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚r the days you carried your babies! ⁣

a bit of reflecting happening over here 🫶🏻⁣
⁣
what did life feel like before the noise of endless scrolling?⁣
where did i find inspiration before i was flooded with content from every direction?⁣
how was i willing to risk before the thought of “what will they think?” ever crept in?⁣
what simple practices from the beginning have i let slip away?⁣
⁣
growth is good.⁣
free tools (like social media) can be good.⁣
but i’m more and more convinced there’s a sacred power in the 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 that we’ve rushed past or forgotten just so we can make it to the goal.⁣
⁣
the sacredness of process. ⁣
letting God guide us to where He wants us. ⁣
letting there be time in between desire & receiving the fullness of something. ⁣
⁣
so here’s your gentle nudge: pause for a moment today and think about your own process and the beginning and where you started…⁣
⁣
maybe it was the start of your marriage.⁣
the first brave days of your business.⁣
that fresh excitement in a new job.⁣
the joy of a hobby.⁣
the spark of a new goal.⁣
⁣
what have you forgotten?⁣
what could you bring back?⁣
or maybe, where do you need to simply slow down and allow Him to be in the process?⁣
⁣
anyway — just realizing that there’s so many places that He invites me that aren’t full of noise — they’re full of Him. ⁣
to slow down & just be in it with Him. ⁣
that my faith allowed the fears to be small — that’s where i want to be. ⁣
with Him — right in the middle 🤎t

got the absolute *joy* and *honor* of documenting lauryn’s senior year yesterday in downtown franklin.

we literally had soooo much fun, got lots of steps in and giggles and celebrated each outfit, location, etc.

the other part i loved: her momma just supporting her. hyping her up. helping her with carrying outfits. they took the scenic route into franklin and just made it a special day. 🥹

what a memory to always have 🤎

the cuddles on the couch. ⁣
the toy your toddler insists must be in every photo. ⁣
the way your dog always sneaks into the frame. ⁣
these are the memories you want to stack - the ones you’ll miss one day 🫶🏻⁣

𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.⁣
every corner has a story. ⁣
the growth chart on the wall.⁣
the coffee ring on the table. ⁣
the nursery that turned into a big kid’s room. ⁣
these photos become a time capsule...of their childhood and your motherhood.⁣

𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. ⁣
not pinterest’s version. ⁣
not instagram perfect. ⁣
just your, as you are, with your babies and the people you love most. ⁣

what do you say — time for a new profile picture and some facts about me?! ⁣

* i am obsessed with my planner BUTTTT 𝘪 𝘢𝘮 𝘢 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘉 (maybe even C haha) girlie who recognized the power of discipline to steward my days for His glory. ⁣
⁣
* every car i have owned has had a sunroof because i am 𝘰𝘣𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘬𝘺 and love to see it any chance i get. ⁣
⁣
* one of my 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘫𝘰𝘣𝘴 was at Sonic — tried to skate and royally failed. 👍🏼⁣
⁣
* my corporate america career was in managing 𝘊𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 Tractor Supply Company 🥹 *not to be mistaken with customer service — instead i studied our customer’s behavior based on their experiences with our brand and store!⁣
⁣
* when i was little, 𝘪 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘥𝘥𝘥𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 because that meant i could make calendars, budgets, fake money, open a “store”, dream of owning my own business. i didn’t know it then — but doing this has always been in my bones! (also i had 5 sisters. the alone time was nice!)⁣
⁣
* i’ll never say no to a 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸. i go by myself, i go with my nieces and nephews, anyone who will go — they’re my favorite! (but i don’t like watching movies 🫣)⁣
⁣
* i absolutely 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘦𝘦𝘦𝘦𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘳𝘺. i love knowing i can wear *anything* i want. anything i love? it’s available. however i’m feeling that day? that’s fine, i have an outfit for it.⁣
⁣
* all year so far ive been 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘮 𝟸𝟹 — and it’s been the best thing! reading books, commentary, listening to sermons, and podcasts — and wow. it’s changed my life🥹⁣
⁣
* i have to have my food or drinks an 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. like if it’s meant to be cold — i want it like ice. and if it’s meant to be hot — i want it straight out of the oven. all my years living as a missionary overseas probably did that! 🫣⁣
