Thinking about this today as I help a friend with the overabundance of things they are surrounded with.

I've heard it said that if you give your children a cookie to stop their temper tantrums, you are teaching them to throw another tantrum whenever they want a cookie. So, I reflected on how often adults treat themselves to a stiff drink or a cigarette or over-eating or binge-watching after a hard day, and how ANY day can then be called a "hard day" to justify indulgence (asking for a friend) 😁

Are we training ourselves to have hard days? At what point did we move the gauge on what counts as a "hard day?" And, if we keep having "hard days," is that why we think we have a "hard life?"

What would training yourself to have a glorious life look like? I used to work at a sandwich shop on the beach, where an elderly surfer show up each morning for a cup of coffee. I remember saying to him, "Have a good day!" To which he responded, "Young man, every day is a good day, some are just better!"

This topic may end up turning into one of my monthly blogs... we shall see..
