Do you deal with nagging low back pain…especially on one side? 🤔😬
It might be your Quadratus Lumborum (QL) asking for some love.

This deep core muscle helps stabilize your spine—but when other muscles aren’t pulling their weight, the QL steps in to do everything…and gets tight, cranky, and overworked. 😩

Here’s the twist most people miss:
👉 It doesn’t just need stretching…
👉 It often needs strength + coordination.

Enter one of my all-time favorite (and surprisingly fun!) resets:

💥 The “Butt Walk” 💥

Yes…just like you did as a kid 😄

This simple movement helps:
✨ Strengthen the muscles that support your low back
✨ Improve coordination between your brain + body
✨ Gently wake up your nervous system

How to do it:
👉 Sit tall with legs extended
👉 Bend your elbows
👉 Use your hips to “walk” yourself forward and backward
👉 Try 2 rounds of 10–20 steps

It may look silly…
…but your spine will thank you 😉

Bonus tip:
Feeling a little unsure or wobbly? Start on a yoga mat and keep your hands lightly on the floor beside you for support 💛

Small, simple movements like this can create BIG changes over time.

Let me know if you try it! 👇

April is … and apparently also a great time to take a cue from our animal friends. 🦢😉

Ever notice how effortlessly animals balance on one leg?

Good news… your body was designed to do that too.

If your balance feels a little “wobbly” lately, don’t panic.
Your brain just needs a gentle reminder. 🧠✨

Enter: the cross-crawl.

This simple movement helps your brain and body talk to each other again — improving coordination, stability, and confidence.

👉 Try it:
Opposite hand to opposite knee… slow and steady.

🤔💡 Feeling too wobbly to try this without support?
Stand at your kitchen counter where you can lightly touch down for support as your balance (and confidence!) begin to grow.

It might feel a little goofy at first…
But that just means your brain is waking up! 🧠😄

Today is 💙

Every 9 minutes, someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
And while there is currently no cure…there is hope. 🙏

Over the past 9+ years, I’ve had the honor of working with individuals living with Parkinson’s — and I’ve witnessed something truly incredible:

✨ Improved balance
✨ Smoother gait
✨ Reduced tremors
✨ Greater confidence
✨ A renewed sense of independence

Through simple, intentional movement — especially Original Strength® RESETS — we’re not just exercising the body…we’re supporting the nervous system and brain. 🧠

And that’s where the magic happens. 💫

I’m so grateful to have shared this message on the Original Strength Bodcast with Tim Anderson — because this work matters deeply to me.

Because here’s what I believe with my whole heart:

💙 There is ALWAYS potential for improvement.
💙 There is ALWAYS a way to support the body.
💙 There is ALWAYS hope for a better quality of life.

It’s National Unicorn Day and I am 100% here for it! 🦄💫

Because honestly…
We’re all just humans learning how to remember our magic again.

✨ Move your body → wake up your brain
✨ Shift your thoughts → shift your life
✨ Be unapologetically YOU → attract your people

You don’t need to be “normal.”
You need to be aligned.

So go ahead…
Sparkle a little brighter today.
Think a little bigger.
Believe a little deeper.

✨ And here’s your little “unicorn reset”:
Take 2–3 minutes to cross-crawl, gently rock, or simply breathe.
Because when you move your body, you change your state…
And that’s where the magic begins. ✨

Back to Asheville, 2017… where we weren’t just hanging out — we were training our brains 😄🙌

I had the joy of assisting at an Original Strength™ Pressing RESET workshop…
and watching people light up as their bodies started to move with ease again. ✨

Here’s the magic:
Those simple, playful movements?
👉 Wake up your nervous system
👉 Reconnect your brain + body
👉 Restore strength, mobility, and confidence

No grinding. No forcing.
Just reminding your body what it already knows. 💛

Because when the brain feels safe and supported… the body follows.

April is
So maybe it’s not about doing more…
Maybe it’s about moving smarter. 😉

April is 💫
And if there’s one movement my clients consistently come back to… it’s this one:

👉 Wide-Knee Windshield Wipers

This gentle, feel-good movement is like a reset button for your hips and your nervous system.

And let’s be real…
So many of us are either:
💻 Sitting for hours
🌿 Or suddenly out in the yard doing all the things after months of not moving that way

…and then wondering why the low back is saying,
“Excuse me… what just happened?” 😅

This is where this simple movement shines ✨

It helps:
✔️ Restore hip mobility
✔️ Ease lower back tension
✔️ Gently wake up your spine
✔️ Calm the nervous system (yes, please!)

And the best part?
You can do it:
🛏️ Before you even get out of bed
🧘‍♀️ Midday when your body feels stiff
🌙 Or at night to unwind

💫 How to do it:

• Lie on your back, knees bent, feet wide
• Arms out in a T, palms up
• Slowly lower your knees from side to side like windshield wipers
• Move with your breath… slow and easy

✨ 5–10 reps each direction is plenty

⚠️ Keep both shoulders heavy on the floor — only go as far as feels good

💡 Little nugget to tuck away:
Tight hips often = cranky knees.
Before blaming the knees… check in with the hips 😉

Try this today and notice how your body feels after.
Sometimes the simplest movements create the biggest shifts 💛

I almost didn’t start this business… 😬
Today marks 10 YEARS of Restorative Strength. ✨

Ten years ago, I quietly stepped outside my comfort zone after a 30-year career in the music industry…
and followed a calling I couldn’t ignore.

What began as a mission to help people 50+ move better and reduce pain has grown into something so much bigger…

💫 Supporting brain + nervous system health
💫 Helping seniors maintain independence
💫 Restoring confidence, strength, and joy in everyday movement

And here’s what I know for sure:

When one person feels better in their body…
their whole world feels it.

The ripple effect is REAL. 💖

So grateful for this journey…
and we’re just getting started. 😉

My Story

PJ Olsen is an expert in physical wellness with a focus on strength and mobility, resulting in diminished pain for her clients. She is the founder and owner of Restorative Strength, LLC which is a company that helps individuals restore their physical fitness back to where it was earlier in life. She also specializes in working with men and women who suffer from chronic pain issues or physically limiting medical conditions.

PJ is a wellness speaker and workshop facilitator who has completed 500 hrs of yoga training, is certified in Rock Steady Boxing and is an Original Strength Coach. As part of these unique fitness and wellness accomplishments, she has been featured in O Magazine, Entrepreneur, Forbes, and Fortune as well as being a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the Yoga Alliance.

As a successful 30-year veteran in the music industry, working with Sony, MCA, and even Toby Keith’s label Show Dog, she has promoted world-renowned artists such as Tim McGraw, Elton John, and Mary J Blige. As a result of years of sitting behind her computer screen and working in a sedentary business environment PJ’s body felt the toll. This led to a big decision and an even bigger need to start living and moving differently. Realizing how much could be accomplished in just 2 weeks of simple functional movement, PJ made a huge career shift and at age 50, she began her life’s mission and her passion – to help people regain strength, remove physical limitations and restore their confidence.
