Inside, there’s always the darkness
There’s a darkness that’s always looking to the light
Without it, you won’t realize your strength
Without it, you’d still give up hope
At no time is it absent and it’s always the most moving
The most Earth shattering
Darkness once asked, “what is light without the dark?’
I ask, “What is fear without peace?
What is joy without sorrow?
One embraces the other
One sacrifices the other and in an instant, you could be set free
I ask, “When you look to the sky, what do you see?
Hope, tears, love, regret?
I see the dark, I feel the light and I embrace my thoughts
Each one with a purpose, each one with a sign, each one with a quiet noise
Never muffled, never full….always lurking
Lurking in the light, finding no joy in peace without persuasion
Finding no meaning without interference
Finding no tunnel nor rainbow without the grime
Only finding self…realizing that ultimately
Inside, there’s always the darkness
The darkness that’s looking to the light
