On May 24, 2012 our entire family was guessing a name for our second little miracle with the initials JFD. We wanted to wait to find out the gender because we knew it would be one of the greatest surprises of our life. Little did we know we would be blessed with a little girl who would change our lives forever. Since Jamie Faith Douglas was born old friendships renewed, family draws closer and new friendships develop. Without Jamie Faith these relationships would not exist or would have remained stagnant. God’s purpose for her life has been evident since the day she was born. At 6 months old there was no diagnosis but we knew that her brain did not fully develop after results of an MRI. With very low muscle tone it was even more challenging for her to use her muscles. Being behind developmentally she received physical and occupational therapy every week. Our baby girl never had any trouble eating which is a blessing considering her other issues. On December 31, 2012 our lives were shaken once again when Jamie Faith stopped breathing. After performing CPR, she was immediately rushed to the emergency room at Providence Hospital in Waco, TX. After being intubated, she was carefully transported to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple, TX to their Pediatric ICU. She quickly recovered and came back home with our family. The only way to describe Jamie’s life is by a miracle. After a slow decline and weight loss, Jamie was admitted back into the hospital in downtown Houston on April 3, 2013. After a week in the hospital, Jamie's little body could no longer tell her how to eat and breathe on her own and her body was worn out. On April 10, 2013, Jamie Faith went to be with Jesus. We have been delivering gift bags in her honor since 2013 to Children's Memorial Hermann in downtown Houston, Texas on New Years Eve. We also throw a New Years Eve party for the families and children with carnival games and prizes. We always want to try and give back and support others in their time of need as we were supported and comforted by our family and friends.
