Of course my belief in God changed the trajectory of my life.
I needed a healthy outlet back in 2010 when I injured my rotator cuff lifting weights in prison and was released homeless.
I found a Krav Maga school in Denver a few blocks from the shelter I was staying. Scrounged up enough money to sign up for a months worth of classes and at 40 years old took my first class. My life would forever change.
By 2013 I would earn my first level one instructor certification, start my own Krav Maga business and brought the first Krav Maga class the Roaring Fork Valley.

President Trump announced a new executive order establishing the “Great American Recovery Initiative” to better coordinate nationwide efforts addressing drug addiction and substance use. The initiative will guide federal agencies on prevention, early intervention, treatment, recovery support, and re-entry services. It will be co‑chaired by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and recovery advocate Kathryn Burgum, who has shared her own long-term recovery story.
The announcement comes amid shifting federal decisions on addiction funding, including the administration’s recent reversal of proposed cuts to SAMHSA treatment programs.
