Forest Farming for the first time with me friends from the & !

Planted Ginseng, Bloodroot & Goldenseal as part of a research project studying the viability of Forest Farming in urban areas like New Haven, CT!

Also learned to identify some new forest botanical blessings; Particularly Witch Hazel, Spice Bush & Black Birch!

Looking forward to embracing the slowest mighty grow cycles of these sacred plant medicines!

Who Knew New Making Adobe Bricks Could Be So Easy, Creative & Fun! I Certainly Found Out During My Time In Trinidad At !

This 10 Day Earth Building Immersion Hosted By Was Nothing Short Than A Breath Of Fresh Air!

With Just A Simple Ratio Of Natural Clay, Sand, Straw & Water, & A Mold To Shape The Bricks, We Were Able To Create The Building Blocks For Many Earth Structures!

Thriving throughout 2024! With the help of community, Root Life was able to install over 60 garden beds to expand the garden into an official farmer incubator grow space!

We were also able to teach over 50 youth through immersive experience!

Our produce supported 3 different local, BIPOC centered, CSA programs such as & !

Shout out to & for bringing their organizations to volunteer and contribute to the uplifment of our neighborhood!

Shout out to , , UCONN Agriculture Extension & The New Haven Green Fund for providing funding to support the growth of our communal space!

Looking forward to a wonderful, abundant, 2025 grow season!

About The Founder:

Native Praxis was born & raised in New Haven, CT; an indigenous resident to the city, Praxis has always had a strong passion for uplifting & empowering the local community.

Praxis has been urban farming in New Haven for 8 years; 4 Of those years were spent working as a fulltime Farmer & Environmental Educator For Common Ground High School while the rest of the time has been spent volunteering with local agricultural organizations such as New Haven Farms, The New Haven Land Trust, The Yale Sustainable Food Project, & The Yale Botanical Gardens.

In addition to working for and volunteering with key local agricultural organizations, Praxis has spent his time assisting local community gardens with start-up, maintenance & garden essentials as well as facilitating after school Garden Club programs.
