I have been in private practice for over twenty years, and I am honored to walk-along side those individuals who are struggling with a variety of difficulties. The experience of phone counseling offers you the convenience of speaking to me from your home, office or anywhere. I work with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, fear, abandonment, grief, betrayal, doubts about the Lord, rejection, or conflict in a relationship. My heart is to minister to the hurting with compassion, commitment, and confidentiality. My education includes a Master of Divinity degree in counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies and counseling from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Watching the Storm

Are you watching the storm make its way through the Atlantic, threatening Florida? I know I am. These hurricanes have devastated the U.S. coastlines so many times. My heart is with the many people who are likely to experience this
event.

Yes, it’s a time to watch and PRAY!

I remind myself that I should not be motivated to “watch and pray” only when there is a natural storm moving toward our nation, or other nations. Rather, watching and praying should be a normal, everyday activity for us. Storms that do not show up on any sort of radar are approaching. May the Holy Spirit guide us to pray for our families, neighbors, churches, work places, political leaders, and all first responders. He is able to give us warnings and guide our decisions. Thank you, Lord. (Ephesians 6:18)

Have you been flooded recently? Living around so many waterways, we are mindful of how even short, powerful bursts of rain can flood a street, home or business. This is just what we experience for the pleasure of living in or around New Orleans.

What does water symbolize in the Bible, though? It is the symbol of the Holy Spirit. Unlike natural water, there is no negative effect to being flooded with the Holy Spirit. When we are “flooded” with His power, we bear His fruit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. (Galatians 5:22-23)

So while we clean up the overflow of waterways in our area, consider the good kind of flood-the “water” of heaven, the Holy Spirit.
