Interested in Neurology and love teaching your peers? Applications are now open for the Neurology Ambassadors Program.

Selected students will help lead high-yield, Neurology-focused NBME prep sessions throughout the academic year, with mentorship and support from the clerkship leadership team. It is a great opportunity to strengthen your knowledge, build presentation skills, and make an impact on your classmates. Applications are due April 15, 2026.

This Black History Month, we’re proud to spotlight Dr. Kendrick Johnson, a trailblazing neurosurgeon dedicated to life-saving innovation and community health.

A first-generation college graduate from St. Joseph, LA, Dr. Johnson is a dual-fellowship trained expert specializing in complex cerebrovascular and endovascular treatments. Beyond his technical expertise in treating aneurysms and strokes, he is the visionary behind the Stroke Outreach Program at Tulane University and was recognized as a 2025 CityBusiness Health Care Hero.

From his roots in North Louisiana to his vital work at UMC and Tulane, Dr. Johnson’s journey is a testament to resilience and excellence.
