Scott's Diabetes Scott's Diabetes is a blog about Scott K. Johnson and his life with type 1 diabetes. Hi! I'm Scott! Thanks for stopping by - I really appreciate it.

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was five years old. I'm living an awesome life, and diabetes doesn't slow me down - but it is a lot of work at times. I spend a lot of my time and energy sharing my story and spreading information about diabetes, and it means a lot to me that you're interested in what I have to say. Thank you for that! I'd love to hear from you! Please reach out anytime! I look forward to talking with you!

What a great day! I’m attending and had the awesome luck to pick a seat next to John Walsh! The earlier editions of his books had a lasting positive impact on my diabetes management, so I was thrilled to see he JUST released this update. It’s not everyday you get to rub elbows with someone like John and to walk away with an *autographed copy* of Pumping Insulin totally made my day. I can’t wait to dig in.

I really enjoyed the brown bag discussion from the Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition today about mental and emotional health with diabetes. T'ara is always amazing, and I also enjoyed Joshan's and Amada's points. I hope to hear more from all of them! Thank you, DPAC!

Big thanks to T1D Strong and Erin for the fun feature!

With over 40 years of experience living with type 1 diabetes, writer and advocate Scott K. Johnson has learned a great deal about the healing power of storytelling. He’s also seen much improvement with technological advancements and how we communicate, express, and look at the disease.
