The Parenting Center at Children's Hospital We offer classes, advice by phone, and resources to parents of toddlers to teens.

The Parenting Center, a department of Manning Family Children’s, is dedicated to helping parents and grandparents deal with the ordinary challenges of raising children. The Parenting Center at Children's hospital helps parents and grandparents develop competence and confidence and offers practical parenting suggestions to help with the ordinary stresses of raising children. The staff of parent educators include clinical social workers, an early childhood educator and a registered nurse who help families grow from birth to adolescence. The Parenting Center provides classes, book & video lending libraries, playrooms in two locations, Uptown (with play yard) and Metairie.

🌟Family Spotlight🌟

This month we’re spotlighting Ardan, David, and Ole—a family who brought so much warmth and positivity into our playroom. They visited nearly every day since the summer, settling into the space with open hearts and a welcoming presence that invited connection and laughter. Ole quickly captured our hearts with his sweet smile, the trusty blue spoon he carried everywhere, and his bold, flavorful snacks (liver and onions being his favorite).

It’s always sad when families move, but we think of them often, and they will always hold a special place in our hearts. We’re grateful for every family who becomes a part of our story.

Parents and grandparents—Bring your little ones and join us for fun in the playroom on Wednesday and Friday this week. We are open both days from 9am–noon and 1–4 pm. Our playroom is for children ages 3 and under.

The playroom and our offices will be closed Thursday, November 27.
